"I only offer the last comment as a possible reason for cover-up. I can't think of any other."

How about the fact that the Republicans had just gotten the House giving the Clinton's a resounding defeat to their socialistic platforms.

It was really dealt with relatively quickly... way too fast for the number killed. All wrapped up neat.

McVeigh was a monster but also a loose end that they silenced fairly quickly considering all the questions around the whole event.

Then when questions were starting to come about the possibility of additional bombs in the building... it was dropped the rest of the way park put in.

If someone FreepMails me with an email, I will send a couple nice, compact images of Howe & Strassmeir to post.

McVeight didn't appeal - how does this translate into "a loose end that they silenced fairly quickly"?

I guess you're also unaware that 'Oklahoma Jones' tried unsuccessfully to 'debrief' McVeigh using a number of different inerrogators, and McVeigh's story NEVER varied. See, Oklahoma Jones wasn't entirely convinced that McVeigh pulled off this job and did his utmost to find out, to no avail, what really happened; McVeigh was also miffed that Oklahoma Jones was up to this trick ...
