WASHINGTON The husband of the C-I-A agent whose cover was blown is clearing up some confusion over a comment he made to C-N-N.
Joseph Wilson said yesterday that his wife, Valerie Plame, "was not a clandestine officer the day Bob Novak blew her identity."
Today, he says he was only pointing out that once her identity was blown, his wife lost her ability to be a covert agent. He says he wasn't suggesting that she had stopped working undercover for the C-I-A beforehand.
Wilson is continuing his attack on White House adviser Karl Rove, for discussing his wife with columnist Novak and Time magazine reporter Matthew Cooper. The discussion came just days after Wilson had written in The New York Times that some of the administration's intelligence on Iraq's nuclear weapons was twisted to exaggerate the threat.
btw, GOOD to see you............where have you been keeping yourself??
While that work isn't complete, 1) a Rat / Media type WILL be found to be the source. Why else would Ms. Miller subject herself to jail; FOR KARL ROVE? and 2) both, will look like fools, trying to hang this on Rove.
Is there a Cone of Silence big enough for all these freaks?
It can easily take two years to try to figure out who said what to whom when everyone says they heard it from somebody else and nobody points to an ultimate source. That's what I think has gone on here. Everybody in Washington knew about Val and Joe, but nobody can remember exactly who told them and when, it was just cocktail party chatter for months. And it isn't necessary to prove Plame was covert, it is necessary to prove that anyone who leaked her name to the media THOUGHT she was covert and thought they were blowing her cover and did it anyway.
Blitzer also neglected to include any mention of Senate Select Committee on Intelligence report or Lord Butler report that skewered Wilson for LYING about everything.
LOL
"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain! I am Oz, the great and powerful!"
Hope so...I'm starting to run out of tinfoil.
LOL and my senator's leading the parade.
I dusted off my superwoman cape and went back to work. I actually like it too.
Yup. But I guess lying about pre-war intel wasn't "scandalous" enough for Wolf.
Well parsed! Basically I had the same thoughts but you said it far better. In addition I would add that any spouse of any ambassador should be assumed to be a spook - especially if the ambassador is a career diplomat. Valerie Plame's career as a spy was done the day she became Mrs Wilson!
Shocking!
I'm sure that when the Rove balloon pops that they will get right on that in the MSM!
LoL!
To assume Valerie Plame lost her ability to become a covert CIA agent assumes she had the ability to be a covert CIA agent ... which seems highly unlikely because of the high profile she kept over the years.
Now, clearly there was a point in the day - after the Trib hit the street? - when Plame was no longer clandestine. Her name was in the paper as a CIA 'operative'. The question that didn't get asked is whether she was clandestine on that day BEFORE Novak's column hit the street.
Of course, given web publishing, the column was probably available the night before or early that morning. ;-)
So, IF he was saying what is being construed here, i.e. "My wife was NO LONGER covert when Novak wrote his column," then he was not responding even a little bit to the question that was asked - you see my point? If he was saying, "She was covert any more because Novak published," he is responding, somewhat, to the question.
LOL, he mentioned that the Dem's are upset with him for saying that Rove should get a metal.
A letter went out saying everyone should avoid appearing on his show.
He had a debate with Hutchinson and said to her, "I'll play the Democrat."
Swell, fodder for the lib's to show a shortage of tin too. /s
(But we don't pay you anything here, so you probably made a good choice. ;)
She never had her "cover blown" that the general public knows.
