It doesn't look good for Karl Rove (John Dean of Nixon fame chimes in)
CNN ^ | 7-15-05 | John Dean

Posted on 07/15/2005 12:10:50 PM PDT by Indy Pendance

(FindLaw) -- As the scandal over the leak of CIA agent Valerie Plame's identity has continued to unfold, there is a renewed focus on Karl Rove -- the White House deputy chief of staff whom President Bush calls his political "architect."

Newsweek has reported that Matt Cooper, in an e-mail to his bureau chief at Time magazine, wrote that he had spoken "to Rove on double super-secret background for about two min[ute]s before he went on vacation ..." In that conversation, Rove gave Cooper "big warning" that Time should not "get too far out on Wilson."

Rove was referring, of course, to former Ambassador Joe Wilson's acknowledgment of his trip to Africa, where he discovered that Niger had not, in fact, provided uranium to Iraq that might be part of a weapons of mass destruction (WMD) program.

Cooper's email indicates that Rove told Cooper that Wilson's trip had not been authorized by CIA Director George Tenet or Vice President Dick Cheney; rather, Rove claimed, "it was ... [W]ilson's wife, who apparently works at the agency on [WMD] issues who authorized the trip." (Rove was wrong about the authorization.)

Only the special counsel, Patrick Fitzgerald, and his staff have all the facts on their investigation at this point, but there is increasing evidence that Rove (and others) may have violated one or more federal laws. At this time, it would be speculation to predict whether indictments will be forthcoming.

Now that John Dean has chimed in, you can be absolutely, positively certain that this story is going nowhere and Karl Rove will be exonerated.

I saw ex-senator Don Riegle (remember the Keating 5 scandal?) on Fox just before noon and he was going on and on about how serious it was because Rove was called up to testify on 3 occasions. Sounded pretty hugh and series to me........LOL!!!

Maureen was rumored to be a DC party girl. I admit I found her pretty damn sexy during the W'gate hearings.

For those who didn't click through to read the whole article, in this pience John Dean has already moved beyond getting Rove on the whole covert thing - that whole line is over and he knows it - so he has moved on to some weird anti-leaking precedent with which to bring down Rove.

Desperation isn't pretty.

"That has to be a Rush parody. If not, I would love someone to post the audio of it. Hell, I want to hear the audio even if it is a Rush parody.

It sounded like a Rush parody. But someone called in toi Rush saying that they had heard it on their station. Rush never mentioned that it was a parody....and it was a grandmother who was calling him. Who can lie to a grandmother? Other than Democrats?

It's no Rush parody ~ it's always part of the local commercials.

If it is, it's placed with the local station commercials.

This is the first I have heard of this. I would think that a Soros outfit running ads with the line "Karl Rove spells his name with a K just like The Klan" would be all over FR.

Can anyone post the audio, transcript, the group sponsoring the ads, etc...?

LOL, it is a parody. Some sweet old lady called Rush and was all upset because they had a commerical sponsored by Soro's which blames Rove because his name begins with a K, like the KKK.

I wouldn't put it past Rush to pay for commerical spots to run it as a joke.

Hey, John, your 15 minutes were over 30 years ago! Get off the stage -- crawl back into your spider hole -- no one cares what you think!

When someone writes, "...there is increasing evidence that..." it usually means there is no evidence.
