It doesn't look good for Karl Rove (John Dean of Nixon fame chimes in)
CNN ^ | 7-15-05 | John Dean

Posted on 07/15/2005 12:10:50 PM PDT by Indy Pendance

(FindLaw) -- As the scandal over the leak of CIA agent Valerie Plame's identity has continued to unfold, there is a renewed focus on Karl Rove -- the White House deputy chief of staff whom President Bush calls his political "architect."

Newsweek has reported that Matt Cooper, in an e-mail to his bureau chief at Time magazine, wrote that he had spoken "to Rove on double super-secret background for about two min[ute]s before he went on vacation ..." In that conversation, Rove gave Cooper "big warning" that Time should not "get too far out on Wilson."

Rove was referring, of course, to former Ambassador Joe Wilson's acknowledgment of his trip to Africa, where he discovered that Niger had not, in fact, provided uranium to Iraq that might be part of a weapons of mass destruction (WMD) program.

Cooper's email indicates that Rove told Cooper that Wilson's trip had not been authorized by CIA Director George Tenet or Vice President Dick Cheney; rather, Rove claimed, "it was ... [W]ilson's wife, who apparently works at the agency on [WMD] issues who authorized the trip." (Rove was wrong about the authorization.)

Only the special counsel, Patrick Fitzgerald, and his staff have all the facts on their investigation at this point, but there is increasing evidence that Rove (and others) may have violated one or more federal laws. At this time, it would be speculation to predict whether indictments will be forthcoming.

"That has to be a Rush parody. If not, I would love someone to post the audio of it. Hell, I want to hear the audio even if it is a Rush parody."

See #118. I have it on tape, but you can go to his web site and listen to it, yourself. The ad is an ABSOLUTE riot. The fact that anyone could actually think it was "for real", just slays me.

Who is WOnka? I loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, so I probably would like the new movie, but I don't go to movies anymore because of my boycott of the Hollywood crowd.

Johnny Depp. Eddie Scissorhands is now the new Wonka. Maybe it should have been renamed Willie Wanker.

I can't find the parody on his site. I'm a 24/7 member so I should be able to find it- can you tell me where it is? Or do I have to listen to the entire show? (not that that is a bad thing!)

I looked all thru this piece and Dean didn't even use his old hyperbolic chestnut: "There's a cancer on the Presidency". He must be slipping.

You need to stop this knee jerk reaction.

For the last 4 1/2 years liberals and their media whores have manufactured one sandal after another in attempt to destroy President Bush and they have failed miserably. This one about the "Plame non story" has already failed miserably and many liberal media whores start pulling out from the deep crap they immerse themselves in after it was revealed in the last 24 hours that Rove did nothing wrong, that Valerie Plame Wilson had not been a covert CIA agent for at least 6 years before her name appeared in Novak article in 2003 so the law of outing a covert CIA agent does not apply to her. However the worst thing for the liberals is that the main source of the leak is one of their own media whore journalists or some other Democrat party hack.

Remember that there are no more savage attacks and lies that liberal can come up with than the ones they had manufactured every day during the 2004 election. In fact during the 2004 election year, President Bush was the most attacked sitting President ever by his political opponents, most ever, nothing like it on record. The results of all these savage attacks and lies were that the majority of American re-elected President Bush with the largest number of votes ever cast for a President.

I agree. Walken's SNL skit of "Col. Angus" is one of the funniest things i've ever seen anywhere.

"John Dean locked in a room with G. Gordon Liddy and a sharpened pencil."

Give the pencil (or a sawed off shotgun or whatever) to Dean. He still wouldn't have a chance against Liddy.

This is such a tortured attempt to keep Rove's feet to the proverbial fire. It's John Dean grimly admitting Rove won't get prosecuted on the initial charge, while clinging to the hope Rove could still be found guilty of some other obscure law.

It's wishful thinking run amok, with John Dean one of the few willing to look so foolish, by going public.

but there is increasing evidence

At any point in time...

There's either

  1. "evidence,"
    or there's
  2. "no evidence."

Increasing evidence = "no evidence" at this point in time.

I'll try...but I doubt it will be very tasty. The Democrats have cooked their own goose.

I estimate that you can find it in the last 10 minutes of the show, or so - just before 3:00 eastern. I just replayed mit on my tape.

He played the parody directly after he hung up from talking to the woman who called in about CAFTA, and just before he went to the break. That other woman called in just before she did.

The only reason many people watched Dean during the Watergate hearings was to get a glimpse of his hot-looking, blonde wife Maureen who was usually sitting a few feet back of him. While John Dean was boring the country with his lurid tales of a few incompetent GOP dirty tricksters, most red-blooded men were eyeballing Mo hoping to see her cross her legs. The honest truth. Not that I, personally, would have ever done such a sinful thing (snicker).
