SEATTLE -- King County sheriff's detectives are investigating possible animal cruelty at a farm near Enumclaw that apparently has attracted "a significant number of people" to have sex with animals, a sheriff's spokesman said Thursday.
The investigation was launched this month after authorities discovered the July 2 death of a man who suffered internal bleeding after engaging in anal sex with a horse at the farm, Sgt. John Urquhart said.
Authorities are not releasing the man's identity because the King County medical examiner has ruled his death accidental. The victim was in his 40s, Urquhart said.
Investigators have interviewed several people in connection with the case, which was brought to authorities' attention after the man was dropped off at a hospital for medical treatment. A surveillance camera picked up the license plate of the car, which led sheriff's detectives to the farm and other people involved, Urquhart said.
Bestiality is not illegal in Washington state.
"Just sex with an animal per se, you'd have to prove some sort of animal cruelty out of that and that's why we've got more investigating to do," Urquhart said.
"A significant number of people, we believe, have likely visited this farm," he said, declining to specify a number while the investigation continues.

Death was accidental. Studs will be studs.
"Know why the Scottish wear Kilts?
Sheep can hear zippers."
Excuse me, but I am 50% Scottish. Insulting animal rapists is one thing, but when you graduate to attacking my men, that's another thing entirely.
Lighten up Francis.
The post I was responding to reminded me of that Joke. Oh by the way I am more than 50% Scottish myself. Even have the family plaid kilt which I have worn to numerous weddings(cousins) and other family events.

Accidental? What the heck? Engaging in anal sex with a horse couldn't possibly happen by accident.
That's one sick SOB. Sadly, it sounds as though there are all too many like minded freaks about.
Not exactly. Higher mammals' sexual responses can be classically conditioned with a little effort. Boars, and bulls will mate with an artificial vagina in order to produce semen for artificial insemination. Stallions are kind of sensitive and usually want to go through a courtship ritual, but they can produce for a non-equine as well. They do have to get into the right position to function. Bulls and boars can sometimes be masturbated by humans to produce semen, and the boars will get very fond of the human who does this for them. (And you thought your job was bad!)
Speaking here as a former farm girl who has bred horses. NO familiarity whatsoever with sheep or goats.
I don't put anything past them. I'm just thinking about the many years of experience I've had at handling stallions. It would certainly be a good way to get killed, but the killing would not likely be from having one's internal organs ruptured by a horse penis. It would be from some of the other consequences of tangling with a thousand-pound animal who does not have a clue about his own vast strength. It's astonishing how easy it is for even a well-meaning horse to kill a human.
terrible subject, but there is more info from the same source:
"The dead man was identified as a 45-year-old Seattle resident. According to the King County Medical Examiner's Office, he died of acute peritonitis due to perforation of the colon."
Also:
"The Seattle man's relatives said yesterday they never suspected he was involved in bestiality. They said they were surprised when they learned he had purchased a Thoroughbred stallion earlier this year. The man told his relatives he boarded the animal with some friends in Enumclaw."
