The virtual vigilantes circling Karl Rove have everything lined up for the brand of justice they see fit for the Architect: public humiliation, all-out character assassination, firing, near-fatal damage to the White House, and if they get the cherry on top, frog-marching the Presidents closest advisor from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. to a federal prison.
Theres just one hitch: their entire political case rests on the quicksand known as Joe Wilson.
As part of the cynical campaign to destroy the man who guided Bush to four straight electoral victories, the Left has hailed Wilson as a hero. At first blush, the idiocy of exalting the man with a well-documented credibility problem would seem to rival the decision to roll the cameras as Dukakis gave the thumbs-up while riding in a tank.
But the Lefts entire rationale for the Fire Rove tidal wave is that revealing Valerie Plames status as a CIA employee was nothing more than a shameful, despicable, and disturbing act of retaliation, retribution, or revenge. If they admitted that Wilson layered lies upon lies, then logic dictates that Rove did no more than encourage a reporter not to be hoodwinked.

From this article:
http://www.nynewsday.com/news/nationworld/nation/sns-ap-cia-leak-rove,0,4798469,print.story?coll=nyc-nationhome-headlines
In an interview on CNN earlier Thursday before the latest revelation, Wilson kept up his criticism of the White House, saying Rove's conduct was an "outrageous abuse of power ... certainly worthy of frog-marching out of the White House."
But at the same time, Wilson acknowledged his wife was no longer in an undercover job at the time Novak's column first identified her. "My wife was not a clandestine officer the day that Bob Novak blew her identity," he said.
So this Democrat maggot hack has just admitted that he has wasted the last two years chasing this non story.

The goal of the Lefties might really be to make sure Rove has no access to classified information. Imagine Bolton at the UN, nosing around for information on the Oil For food Scandal, and no one is allowed to discuss this with Rove. Interesting, but I don't think the MSM was that far sighted. The Democrats in Congress jumped on board after the MSM took the lead last week. If you watched the ridiculous White House Press corps performances last week, you saw the news media in full bore hatred. They have been frustrated for years. The Democrats have been so inept, they decided to take matters into their own hands.
As soon as one of their own, "Drama Queen" Miller, was locked up, they couldn't help themselves. Here was a chance to help a fellow "martyr" and with the same stone get Karl Rove--a man they blame for Bush's success.
Clift was so angry last week she was scary--and that is saying something.
Now, their short sightedness is going to bite them all.

More and more, I believe that Rove knows exactly what is going on and there is a trap to be sprung here somewhere. It may be that Miller and Cooper know the truth also and that truth points right back to the MSM as the culprits.
There is one glaring oddity in this mess. Why did Miller elect to go to jail rather than give up her source? It is now obvious it is not Unca Karl aint it! So who is she trying to protect? I certainly hope they keep her in there with Bertha Butt and the rest of the Butt sisters until she comes clean.
There are those that suggest Hitlery could be the source she is protecting. If you think about it, this smells exactly like a Clintoon dirty trick. Only problem is, it looks like Karl got wind of it very early on and has been playing his cards close to the vest in order to set the DimWits up yet again.
I am certainly glad this guy is on our side! I would sure hate to have to take him on if he were on the other side. No man in history has been as good at making the DumbocRats look like idiots than our beloved Unca Rove!.......LOL
God bess you Mr. Rove! You are truly a class act!

Remember how many in the Clinton administration did not get background checks because it might hurt their feelings.

Not only did they not want to hurt their feelings, but keep them out of jail I suspect!

I have to agree that Democrats in general are short-sighted...but I'm not so sure that Chuck Schumer is...

Joe Wilson Vowed Vengeance Against Karl Rove
With the Washington Post doing his dirty work on Sunday, former ambassador to Iraq, Joseph Wilson seems to be gathering a few allies in his mission, with Democrats like Sen. Charles Schumer proclaiming yesterday, "Whoever [leaked Wilson's wife's name] should go to jail."Despite complaints from Democrats like Schumer that the leak compromised both national security and Mrs. Wilson's safety, the agency told the Post for its Sunday report, "No further harm would come from repeating Plames name."

I know what you're thinking: "Did he fire six shots, or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But, being this is the most powerful brain in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya punk?

Committee staff asked how the former ambassador could have come to the conclusion that the dates were wrong and the names were wrong when he had never seen the CIA reports and had no knowledge of what names and dates were in the reports, the Senate panel said. Wilson told the panel he may have been confused and may have misspoken to reporters. The documentspurported sales agreements between Niger and Iraqwere not in U.S. hands until eight months after Wilson made his trip to Niger.Oh my... OOOPS!
Can we get a "close-up" of this shot, pls? This is damning, despite the "I may have mispoken". I'd really like a close-up and close-in on this very particular point of order, here...

There is no explanation for the continuing stupidity of all of this except for the belief that Wilson & his mendacious backers in the press are paid assets of entrenched anti-American interests. There is no telling how far these people have been compromised by foreign intelligence units (Chinese or, gasp, Al Qaeda).
We rightfully worry about the physical damage global terror groups can inflict. What about the nuance and opinion they can foster through covert intelligence operations? We already seen them easily manipulate their stooges in the American press. Why wouldn't they also try to flip the occasional bureaucrat or editor?
We don't have to wait for the next subway bombing in the West. We are watching Al Qaeda manipulate public thought everyday through the mouths of feckless bureaucrats and pusillanimous editors.

I'm hoping he does a Chancellor Palpatine Sith Lightning strike on the Democrats :)
