"someone who has been officially briefed on the matter said Thursday..."
Sounds like Bush has a rat working for him. Either that, of the SP has someone with low ethical standards. That's probably the most likely, I guess. Or maybe a juror.

"After hearing Mr. Novak's account, the person who has been briefed on the matter said, Mr. Rove told the columnist: "I heard that, too."
Interesting NYTimes got this leak.
If true, this would make Rove Novak's leak # 2. Novak said this "official" said, "Oh, you know about that."
So, who is Novak's leak # 1?

How does Novak or the NYT get Rove being a source for Novak when Novak called Rove and told Rove about Plame? Because Rove said he'd heard the same rumor?
LOL.

Asked by investigators how he knew enough to leave Mr. Novak with the impression that his information was accurate, Mr. Rove said he heard portions of the story from other journalists, but had not heard Ms. Wilson's name. Judy...Judy...Judy!

This is a non-story that has only come to demonstrate to all the world the close links between the MSM and the Dims.

So, Novak was Roves's source, not the other way round!
How will the Psychiatric Wing of rhe Dems spin this twist?

...someone who has been officially briefed on the matter said Thursday. Was this briefing conducted at double secret cosmic background level beta-sub-3?

It looks like Wilson's admission tonight on CNN has upstaged the NY Time's supposed scoop.

"Karl Rove, the White House senior adviser, spoke with the columnist Robert D. Novak as he was preparing an article in July 2003 that identified a C.I.A. officer who was undercover"
Take that and compare it with Wilson admitting on Wolf Blitzer tonight that she was not undercover when the Novak article was written and you have a repudiated story. Talk about splitting hairs
To: freedrudge
All this does is bolster the story that Rove's lawyer put out before - that Rove wasn't actively shopping Valorie Plame's name about and that in fact, he didn't even know anything other than the fact that he was Wilson's wife. This whole thing is absurd. The prosecuter's report which should completly absolve Rove can't come soon enough.
