Subject: Moving On: A New Kind of Peace Activism
By Don Hazen, AlterNet "Our goal is to make it impossible to ignore the anti-war sentiment in this country." - Eli Pariser of MoveOn.org
A tall, bearded young man, his blue suit hanging awkwardly on his body, steps to the microphone in an ornate room in Washington, D.C.'s JW Marriot Hotel.So....Wilson liked containment of Iraq
To the young man's right is the suave, articulate Ambassador Joe Wilson, who served as Deputy Chief of Mission to Iraq in the Clinton Administration.
To his left is former Congressman Tom Andrews, the savvy new National Director of Win Without War, a broad-based anti-war coalition. These men, along with Darcy Scot Martin of Women's Action for New Directions (WAND), Rev. Brenda Gerton- Mitchell of the National Council of Churches and others are at the Marriot to make the case to the American people for the continuation of UN inspections as a strategy of containment.
The goal: to avoid destabilizing the Middle East, which would increase the chances of future terrorist attacks and expose U.S. military and Iraqi civilians and soldiers to the retaliation with biological and chemical weapons that an invasion of Iraq may well provoke.
Was someone close to Wilson part of the Oil-for-Food scandal?
Wilson liked containment of Iraq
because he didn't want to
'expose U.S. military and Iraqi civilians and soldiers to the retaliation with biological and chemical weapons that an invasion of Iraq may well provoke. '
HMMMMMMMMMM!!!! Interesting thought. Someone in the U.S. had to benefit from Oil For Food scandal right. Wilson or some of his "allies" would be just to perfect.
But there is always hope. And it would be much fun.
He has "French connections", which was part of the sell to send him to Niger.
Since Wilson was anti-Saddam before the oil-for-food program began and pro-Saddam after, you may have a good theory. I think Wilson has a number of "European" friends that may have had their gravy train cut off.

State of the Union 2005: WAND encourages "active listening" as an act of patriotism
WAND is providing a State of the Union Listening Guide to facilitate this process. The Guide consists of a series of handy charts, which are easy to print out and fill in. The charts highlight specific topics to listen for, along with spaces for taking notes and recording conclusions. If possible, please make copies of the completed Guide to mail to the President and members of Congress. Addresses are listed at the bottom.
The 2005 State of the Union address is a great opportunity for meaningful action. When you tune in to the President's speech, take care to listen up. It's a vitally important task, an exercise of our responsibility as citizens, an act of patriotism.

Would you consider Joe Wilson close to Wilson?
Better than the money, consider Scott Ritter. Then consider Joe Wilson.
