Re: Drudge

Anyone notice the Nike swoosh on Rehnquist's hat? Tiger Woods gets top dollar for that kind of endorsement. What is the Chief Justice getting for throwing Nike some SCOTUS love? I mean, Tiger is a big deal. But isn't Rehnquist bigger?

She'll talk if she finds out there is a possibility of her remaining in prison after this jury is released. Another jury could be seated and the first order of business could well be Miller. Back to jail she goes.

IF this is their intent .. it WILL back fire one them

I agree, but I also believe the Dims and the media have become so deafened by the volume of the hatred they've got bouncing off the walls of their inside-the-Beltway echo chamber, that they are completely unaware of just how unhinged they really sound, and that they truly believe that we will not only tolerate it, but will actually demand it if they shriek long and loud enough.

How can something that painful be pretty? Still, on a democrat, pain would be , well at least humorous.

Democrats are like "Slinkies!" You can help being amused when they fall down the stairs.

It makes much more sense that Plame herself was Judith Miller's source. After all, Miller has been writing on WMD issues for years and Plame is in the WMD section of the CIA. Plame could have been leaking info to Miller for years. It would certainly explain why Miller won't give up her "source".

Remember the story about the Charity and how Miller gave them the heads up and they started to shred documents

Who else knew about that besides the Justice Department???

The CIA maybe??

The Rats smell blood, or think they do. As long as they can stretch this with the support of the willing media, they will.

I agree and I also agree that there is some big money behind all this Hate Bush stuff. It's just too crazy and over the top. I hope he's up to it. Even more, I hope some of them end up in jail.

She could well end up doing more than a year. If this prosecutor finds the information another way, and Miller has refused to cooperate, she could well be looking at 20 to 30 years. She'd better do some hard thinking.

More than one way to skin a cat.

Meanwhile, in June 2002 Wilson joined forces with the Alliance for American Leadership, an antiwar-oriented, Democrat-dominated foreign policy group headed by Clinton’s former ambassador to Morocco Marc Ginsberg. While serving as ambassador, Ginsberg had coordinated new US trade and investment initiatives in the Middle East--including the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) Investment Fund, which had a Turkey-Azerbaijan project under the funding control of the Soros Private Fund Management--and now as a private citizen he consulted for companies doing business in the Middle East. Ginsberg arranged for Wilson to begin appearing on the news-show circuit, and Wilson began to emerge as an antiwar spokesman. Wilson wrote his first article on the debate for the San Jose Mercury on October 13, 2002. During this same time period Al Gore was making antiwar speeches sponsored by Moveon.org; Joseph Biden, Robert Byrd, Ted Kennedy, and Carl Levin were leading opposition to a Senate resolution on Iraq; and the UN, Russia, China, and France were helping Saddam Hussein stall US/UK military action by prolonging the weapons inspection process.40

Is this the same Marc Ginsberg that is a Fox News Channel analyst?

she's not going to do 20 years for a contempt order - especially for a case that does not result in an indictment. let's not get crazy here.

While Wilson was pursuing his foreign investment ventures, he also served as a foreign policy advisor to the 2000 Presidential campaign of Al Gore.

Didn't he or Schumer today claim that he had voted for George Bush in 2000? I know he made a donation to the Bush 2000 campaign (though most of his other donations were to Dems).

Did Wilson mislead the Washington Post?

In his letter to Roberts and Rockefeller, Wilson responds (or pretends to respond) to a claim that isn’t trivial. He responds to a claim made by Chairman Roberts and two other Republicans—a charge made in the part of the report given over to “Additional Comments” from Committee members. Here is one of charges by the three senators—a murky charge which they flesh out by citing particular incidents:

ROBERTS/BOND/HATCH (page 443): Rather than speaking publicly about his actual experiences during his inquiry of the Niger issue, the former ambassador seems to have included information he learned from press accounts and from his beliefs about how the Intelligence Community would have or should have handled the information he provided.

In short, the senators charge that Wilson tended to say more than he actually knew. In part, the senators refer to a matter described in the body of the report—the part of the report unanimously accepted by the Committee. According to the Committee report, Wilson misstated to Walter Pincus of the Washington Post, in an interview for a 6/12/03 report—an interview conducted at a time when Wilson was still anonymous. According to the report, Wilson told Pincus that he had determined, as part of his trip, that the famous Niger documents were forged. The problem: Wilson had never seen these forged documents. Indeed, the documents weren’t even in US hands when he took his trip to Niger. According to the Committee report, Wilson “told Committee staff that he was the source” of the Pincus article. Here’s the way the Senate report recorded Wilson’s explanation for his apparent misstatement:

SENATE INTELLIGENCE REPORT (page 45): The former ambassador said that he may have “misspoken” to the reporter when he said he concluded the documents were “forged.” He also said he may have become confused about his own recollection after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported in March 2003 that the names and dates on the documents were not correct and may have thought he had seen the names himself.

Clinton claimed that Wilson voted for Bush 1 in 1992.
