I had a hunch she wasn't a covert agent.
Ever since this thing surfaced, there was constant hemming and hahing about whether she was or wasn't.
Frankly, I'd be shocked if she ever was undercover. Odds are she was part of the CIA affirmative action hiring campaign.
And has been nothing more than a paper-shuffler.

Thank you, Wilson's toast now.

The only big stink is now when Wilson and his wife attend those liberal D.C. coctail parties, everybody knows Plame works at the CIA and is shunned as one of "them."

Assuming Fitzgerald knows this, is it possible that the Grand Jury is looking at something else that came up in the course of the investigation, e.g., perjury before Congress by Wilson in the Senate hearing? How narrow is the scope of the Special Prosecutor? - Is it as broad as that L&O episode that tried to diss Starr?

"Could it be he is trying to shut the investigation down before he and his cohorts get embarrassed?"
If by "shut down the investigation" you mean "revoke Rove's security clearance and hang his head on a stake out on the ellipse", then maybe. His press conference with Chuckie didn't sound much like trying to shut anything down...

One would think that if Rove was truly guilty of something significant he would 1) tell Bush and 2) do as little harm to his boss as possible.
Given that Rove hasn't stepped aside, I really hope that Rove is leading the press and the Libs down a path from which there will be no return.

Of course he wont say because that would completely toast this entire story and he is not about to do that.
Plame was NOT a spook. End of story.

Wilson also stated that he knew Cheney didn't send him but it was his staff that wanted his ability in Niger and any assertion was corrected later by Wilson.

Last year during the election, Joe Wilson got on TV over and over and over saying his wife was covert CIA. Now we find out he was lying about it the whole time. Karl Rove should sue him for libel.
