Beware of looking only at population trends over 30 years.

After all, the South was solidly Democratic 30-40 years ago as the end of the segregationist era. Today, it is solidly Republican. Who knows what will happen in the next 30 years?

I don't have anything to back up this statement, other than the fact that I live in the socialist hellhole of NY state. But I believe that many of the people bailing out of the blue states for the red states have values more closely aligned with people in the red states. Not everyone here in the NE is a lib or moderate, although that could someday be the case once all the good guys have left the NE states.

In other words, most of the people moving to the red states from the blue should only help to strengthen the GOP hold on those states. But that also means that the blue states become more blue, which dooms them to further decline.

"Who knows what will happen in the next 30 years?"

Bump to that.
