Attention Democrats: Making Terrorists Perform "Stupid Pet Tricks" Is Not "Abuse"
ABP ^ | 7/14/05 | ABP

On 9/11 over 3,000 Americans were killed, on 7/7 scores of British citizens were killed and hundreds wounded. In Iraq, Islamic terrorists blew up an American soldier and over 20 children to whom he was giving candy and toys.

So what was the Senate Armed Services Committee doing today to protect us against further attacks? Holding hearings on the alleged of "degrading" and "humiliating" "abuse" of Gitmo terrorists., including the admitted 20th hijacker. And what awful things did we subject him to down there at Club Gitmo?

Here's the rundown of the barbaric treatment inflicted on the guy who wanted to kill even more Americans on 9/11.

Schmidt said that to get him to talk, interrogators told him his mother and sisters were whores, forced him to wear a bra, forced him to wear a thong on his head, told him he was homosexual and said that other prisoners knew it. They also forced him to dance with a male interrogator, Schmidt added, and subjected him to strip searches with no security value, threatened him with dogs, forced him to stand naked in front of women and forced him onto a leash, to act like a dog.
Aw, poor guy. Hell, ask Pat about some of the stuff we had to do when pledging our fraternity (I was 2 years ahead of him so I got to haze him). I remember our pledge class had to dance to "California Girls" in bikinis in front of the whole school. And on every playground in America boys are called "gay" as an insult, and had their mothers labeled as a whores thousands of times a day. Wonder when we'll have the hearings on that "abuse"

Good God, can we have some perspective here? The guy was the 20th hijacker. We should have sicked the damn dogs on him while naked after we got what was described as the "extremely useful information" out of him. And even that wouldn't have been "torture". It would have been "justice", or at least a very small bit of justice. I hate to say this again, but the guy was the FREAKING 20th HIJACKER!!!!

Among the other forms of "abuse" these poor chaps were subjected to were sleep depravation, playing loud music, having a female smear FAKE blood on the terrorist, duct taping their mouths, chaining them to the floor (temporarily to protect the safety of interrogators), and had a woman rub a man's back and run his fingers through his hair.

Of course, the Democrats, showing the utmost respect for terrorists, were upset at this treatment.

Carl Levin said: "It is clear from the report that detainee mistreatment was not simply the product of a few rogue military police in a night shift".
And Ted Kennedy, who we all know has the utmost respect for human rights (except if you're trapped in a car at the bottom of a lake), said:
"I am deeply concerned about the failure -- indeed, outright refusal -- of our military and civilian leaders to hold higher ups accountable for the repeated and reports of abuse and torture of the prisoners at Guantanamo".
How about Whiskey Ted being held accountable for his version of water torture, which he'd likely describe as simply playing a game of "Marco Polo" with Mary Jo Kopechne that went horribly wrong.

Let's hope the Democrats keep up this line of attack in 2006. They'll realize in short order pushing for "humane" treatment of terrorists isn't likely to be a winning campaign issue. Except maybe in places like San Francisco, Boston, Berkley and the Upper East Side.

These DAMN politicians need to stop outdoing each other on how outraged they are over alleged abuses and start considering the people who put them in office. IMHO, a bullet to the head in not abuse, it's prevention

Am I mistaken or does the word torture not appear anywhere in the Constitution? The founding Fathers were well aware of its uses and chose not to address it in the document. It's not "cruel and unusual" punishment. It's methodology to extract pertinent information for protection of the people. These people are not even afforded the Geneva Convention rights. The writers of the Convention also left out these enemy combatants as well. If we executed every one of them summarily it would not be illegal to do so. The Left is mad........

This is exactly what it is.  It's a game of who can top who in the anger department.  Have they seen that the American people are paying very little attention to this crap.  The outrage for these 'abuses' are NOT coming from the American people, it's coming from themselves, WE DON'T CARE!!!

The more they scram about abuses over every little indiscretion, the more the people are becoming numb to it.

How did we elect so many idiots?

I guess we should crudely decapitate them in the name of Christianity and make the other prisioners watch the videos. If its OK for Muslims its OK for us.

Well Senator Turbin set the table, now when another Democrat (Carl Levin) bad mouths our troops and how they are mistreating the terrorists in GITMO, it's hardly news. I'm looking forward to the 2006 elections to see how many seats the dems loose.

I would say it is unusual and maybe a little cruel. But then, they aren't protected by the Constitution.

Unusual? Not in the rest of the world.......Does the Constitution say "cruel AND unusual"?? Maybe we could use one OR the other, but not both!........
