Does anyone hold out any hope that the Aruban police actually DO know what they are doing and have quietly been going about gathering evidence for a case? Probably just wishful thinking I know...

You're probably right. I just keep wondering if Juran was stalking Natalee before the night of the 29th. Early on, we heard Juran had been hanging out and seen by the Mountain High group before the last night.

Yes, but many on this thread are empirical. They have read the backstory of Aruba and form theories that are informed...instead of just naive.

Hope the hair and tape are not a hoax. This reminds me of when that guy found panties and duct tape right after a search location was shown on TV. Too many evil pranksters down there.

Ruth McVay in NY Post article: On one of their nights out, Holloway met Joran van der Sloot, a tall, smooth-talking gambler son of a prominent local judge-in-waiting and the last person to see Holloway alive.
"Nat met him in the hotel casino called Excelsior," McVay said. "She talked to him for a matter of five minutes when we were playing blackjack."
McVay, who was interrogated by the FBI, said the group of girls with Holloway told van der Sloot they would be at Carlos 'N Charlie's the following night.
"I found it weird because he mentioned earlier that no one went out on Sunday nights, that it was a bad night," McVay recalled.
"And then he showed up at the place," she said.

Yeah, they also said that it was naturally redish (the hair they found), beth's hair is red. So you have naturally red hair, which has been bleeched blonde. I'm about 100% sure it is Natalee's hair, and that she was in that grave before PVDS moved her.
This is confusing. On Geraldo, I thought the guy on the telephone being interviewed said the hair was natural blond with red highlights???
Then Geraldo made a comment to Dave Holloway (which I thought was tacky) that "only her hairdresser would know for sure".
My gut tells me this is another hoax.
BTW, it looks to me like Natalee's natural color is dark brunette. She's not blonde in the photos of her as a little girl at her friend's birthday party.
