Imho, the DEA agent in question is not the cellphone guy. The way it looks, the cellphone guy was contacted by the DEA agent. (see Greta's interview of Charles Croes, he states that he was contacted by a friend. My assumption is that friend was the DEA agent). Also I believe that particular DEA agent has been on O'Reilly a couple of times early on in the case. His name escapes me at the present. I will have to look it up.
Thanks for info on "Jingles"....I've never heard of the movie but Tom Selleck is "hot" so I'll probably check it out...heh, heh, heh!

Charles Croes had a posting on Aruba.com regarding the case that he posted after his On The Record interview. Did you read it? It was copied and pasted here on FR on one of the threads.

There are issues in this case that can go beyond the obvious in their implications.
It will take time for all the information regarding this lovely child to come out. Some of it will be hard to handle and some of it will be expected. With regards to the family of this missing child, my prayers are with you.
I was with them on the first night they arrived to ARuba (looking for their daughter) from midnight until 5:30 AM and have kept in touch. In my opinion, this issue has far reaching implications for all those involved.

There was also an interview where he said something to the effect "he's had the pleasure of serving the United States" I think he's lived here as well. The theory being--military or DEA or some such.
Totally describes someone I was married to....and I see the same expressions (and lack of) on Joran's face.

I don't know what to think of him, except that I am not inclined to accept him at face value.....and I mean beyond whether or not he is the DEA agent.
BTW, Beth DID say that the cops 'didn't request' a statement from the DEA agent, rather than 'wouldn't accept' one, like I thought I heard at 10pm. Hopefully he took the initiative to prepare and send one timely to FBI/DEA, in case it can be used as evidence in court.
One thing about the cops and the DEA guy......the cops in aruba knowing the ID of a DEA guy is the same as those he is seeking info on knowing, since aruba is corrupt in such a round-robin way. Their cops and our DEA are not on the same side where drugs and money laundering are concerned.
and keeping our FBI at arns length in this "investigation" after inviting the FBI assistance demonstrates clearly that their cops and our FBI are not on the same side in the disappearance of Natalee, either!

Charles. There is nothing to worry about. We all know even if you have ties with the case nothing will be done about. But it does sound like you are nervous about something.

Robert, Perceptive guy indeed.
Not so much nervous as tired and a bit frayed around the edges. Work has piled up and trying to keep things going while involved in other issues is tough.

Totally describes a dog we had once, no kidding. The dog was a doggie sociopath. No affection for us or anyone, did exactly what he wanted, was defiant, reckless, remorseless. I don't think he lied but who knows.
