Wasn't there someone posting that the simplest reason is usually the correct one? Oscar's ---- theory, forgot what it is called.

These people live on a small island. They are knowledgeable about everything necessary to dump something at sea and it not wash back up on shore. How long would it take to motor about three miles offshore and return? The withdrawals from the ATM at 3:30 in the morning might have paid for using a friends boat for an hour or so.

The most likely of all scenario is that her body was dropped in the sea. Never to be found. It has probably happened many times, around all the islands, over the years.

There is no legal way to make anyone talk. Other than simply wearing them down over time or with trickery.
The problem with forcing someone is ... here we live under law that presumes innocence until proved guilty.

Whenever any government uses force, then the people are in extreme danger ... of no freedom and tyranny ... to soon follow. Abuse and misuse. It is so frustrating.

Yes, you're right, he wasn't detained long. But it was interesting to me that van der Straaten said he was detained because of information from one of the 3 detainees. When he was released Croes said he didn't know them and they didn't know him.

I suppose van der Straten could have been misquoted but Croes story about just jumping into the middle of this trying to help a guy he didn't even know wasn't believable to me.

From SM, (I think the date should maybe be (10-2004)

"On Oct 7, 2005: Jar Twitty incorporates
AmSouth Investments in Rhode Island. "

This all can be read on S.M., his involvement.

March 26, 2004

Then on 10/07/04,

Hey CG. I sure did like the way TAquinas was pointing his finger at the two black security guards. Switching from single malt scotch to a blend will make one think like that. Using this guys logic and applying it to the Smart case that he so liked to refer to, I am not surprised that he didn't blame Elizabeth's disappearance on one of the, what, fifteen African-Americans living in Utah.
Hell, I'm from Mississippi, was a KA at Ole Miss and this yokel was about as bigoted as I've ever seen.

This poster, TAQ's first language is not English. Wish I was as good at a second language as TAQ is. Now the logic is something else altogether.

Interesting ... when one knows who is guilty ... it is no longer needed to listen to anymore information.

Baffling.

One other thing, some posts back from last night someone posted an article that Natalee's presumed murder is the first tourist murder since 1996 when a woman was murdered during a robbery. The article said that it was quickly solved and two people were convicted. I can't get Capt. Louis Renault saying, "Major Strasser has been shot. Round up the usual suspects," out of my head. I would like to know who was killed in 1996, under what circumstances were they killed and who in the world is jailed for their murder.

Not very long, guess it would depend on the size of the motor. 45 minutes?

I think LE said that when one of the brothers changed their story that was when the red flag about Croes went up.

I suppose van der Straten could have been misquoted but Croes story about just jumping into the middle of this trying to help a guy he didn't even know wasn't believable to me.

There was a reward for information. I can't remember if he said he was hoping to get in on that or if one of his friends said that was why he thought Croes did that.

Here is my guess

Twitty works for Amsouth....he is NOT the President of Amsouth.

Amsouth has some reason to register as a RI Corp in order to do business there......it is (probably best called Amsouth-RI) a 1000 share corp with zero value to the shares, and in fact Amsouth has no office in RI.....CT Corp is their resident agent for RI govt purposes. this thing is fairly described as Amsouth getting a license to sell insurance and investments in RI.....the "Presidency" of Twitty is limited to that RI nearly-non-entity. Meanwhile, back in Alabama, Twitty is an employee of Amsouth, not an officer or director.

Not surpsisingly, Amsouth is handling the Natalee Trust:

There is a true note of sincerity in TAQ's writings. Perhaps there is a challenge of some sort going on here ... mentally. It is not nice to hit people that are not up to what is going on ... which I suspect is the case here.

Total guess; but it is present in the language and responses. Show mercy.

Thanks for the "plausible" explanations for one of the cast of odd characters in this case. The trouble is once someone lies, regardless of their "good" reason, (Croes, PVDS, JVDS and the brothers) they remain suspicious to me :)

Here's details of the "scandal" and etc......nothing to do with twitty, and for me a verrrry long stretch to imagine that it figures into Natalees disappearance.......just a snip:

NASD Bars Former AmSouth Broker for Fraud in the Sale of Variable Annuities

Sales Assistant Charged with Forgery and Falsification of Documents

Washington, D.C. -- NASD announced today that James B. Moorehead of Starkville, MS, has been barred from the securities industry for engaging in fraud, forgery and falsification of documents in connection with variable annuity sales. The transactions took place between March 2000 and April 2001 while Moorehead was a registered representative of AmSouth Investment Services, Inc.

Moorehead’s sales assistant, Angela C. Wynne, has also been charged in connection with the scheme.

“The conduct of the broker in this case was reprehensible, and clearly merits the harshest penalty NASD can impose,” said NASD Executive Vice President and Head of Enforcement Barry Goldsmith.....snip

Was an interesting dvelopment in a way. The theory on SM was that it would make sense that Natalee was kidnapped. But I see what you mean as to Twitty's relationship would be minor in the whole scheme of things.

I just read the State of Miss info on Amsouth Investment and it seemed to be a staight forward matter of a client lawsuit resulting from money lost on variable annuities that were inappropriate for the account. Variable annuities have large fees and brokers are often tempted to push them instead of other more appropriate products.

I have also read of other Amsouth legal problems but they seem completely unrelated to the Natalee trajedy.

It appears that Amsouth Investment is just a broker dealer sub of Amsouth and sells securites, insurance and real estate investment products. Furthermore, I don't think Tom Twitty is a major player in the banks primary operations.

It seems to me that there were previous references here regarding the brother and some kind of offshore investments. For what it's worth as I haven't subscribed to this theory, the investment company is a division of AmSouth Bank. While the investment company has had its hand slapped a couple of times for the rogue behavior of its brokers, it's been nothing like this:

Since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, federal regulators have stepped up enforcement of the Bank Secrecy Act, an anti-money laundering law, passed in 1970, that makes banks responsible for reporting unusual cash activity...

In October, Birmingham, Ala.-based AmSouth Bank was ordered to pay $40 million to the federal government for not filing SARs. (Suspicious Activity Reports) Link

I cannot understand anyone wants to cast aspersions on twitty, reynolds(non-existent ties to Valerio), and even the company with ownership of the plane that flew holloways etc to aruba. None of these things are nefarious....hell, I even saw a discussion about the possible relationship of one student bamed "Byrd" to the vile Sen in Va.

People amaze me to no end.

True, but it was worthy of consideration, however based on what I read here this theory can be dismissed.
