The Davidson County Democratic Party is holding the first annual Gore Family Dinner later this month at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel.
Thats Gore as in Al and Tipper.
The stated purpose for this dinner is to raise money for Democratic candidates in 2006, but its also the first time weve seen Al Gore politically back in his home state in some time.
Even though the Gores maintain a home in Belle Meade, Gores new cable channel has kept him on the move. The channel will be geared towards young people and will debut in August.
But Gores name is already out there for the presidential election in 2008. Enough time has elapsed since the Florida presidential election fight of 2000 for Democrats to put it behind them.
At the same time, Gores tremendous popularity(?) is still intact and he would not be the divisive candidate that Sen. Hilary Clinton would be.
In the 2000 race, Gore didnt carry his home state of Tennessee, a critical factor in his presidential loss. He wouldnt make the same mistake twice.
The first annual Gore Family Dinner may have more implications than just raising cash for party candidates. Stay tuned.
I was hoping this would be about Lesley Gore, not that nutball Al Gore.
Gore, Gore....Hmmm.....seem to recall the name. Isn't he the guy who runs around with the word LOSER stamped on his forehead?
The Chinese Government WILL be pleased...
HE DIDNT EVEN CARRY THE FRIGGIN STATE!!
This bonehead calls him "popular"
Noticed the last time I was driving on I-40 through TN that the sign for Cathage TN said home of Senator Albert Gore, Sr. -- no mention of the son at all! :)
Which one is the bride who got tee peed?
I have a feeling Al will need a job, I dont think there is much future for a Gore Cable show. Politics isnt that job.
I wonder if Al has looked into Jiffy Johns,.Good money to be made there and Gore already knows a lot about bailing out crap.
That has to be one of the least politically astute comments I've ever read.
Wonder what Gore looks like hanging upside down like a Moonbat.. He must look intelligent..
Super! I've really missed all the jokes about him. Wonder what modern wonders he's invented/discovered while he's been on his political hiatus?
The guy who voted against the Civil Rights Act, so the minorities vote for his son. Go figure.
How sweet is this political "comeback"...?
Sickly sweet.
Makes no sense to me and never will.
Southern dinners always have gallons of potliquor in all them collards, turnip greens and stuff. Just leave it to some damn yankee reporter to confuse potliquor with politics.
Hells bells! Tipsy and Al just had a few friends over for dinner, that's all. Sheesh!
ha ha ha! Do it, Al! ha ha ha! DO IT! ha ha ha ha...
