Hurricane Emily resources--the links are self-updating for handy reference:
NHC Hurricane Public Advisory Updates Currently published every three hours 5A, 8A, 11A, 2P, etc. ET.
NHC Hurricane Discussion Updates Published every 6 hours 5A, 11A, 5P, 11P ET
Caribbean Visible Loop (Only works during daylight hours)
Puerto Rico Long Range Radar Loop
Emily Forecast Track Archive Loop Great for reviewing the 3 day and 5 day historic track positions
Yet, simply because the models shift south, the NHC shifts their track south....without any synoptic reasoning or anything.....just "well, the models changed, so like lemmings.....we will, too."
Found the s l o w Cancun radar this morning. Will plan to start a new thread with the 5PM update, or if she makes Cat 5 before. Let me know.
Check out post #719.
155 mph. I just can't imagine that. Thanks for these amazing and very educational threads, NN.
Most of those tracks are already south of where she is actually going.
They are simply wrong.
This may hit northern Mexico instead of Texas, but unless Emily turns to the south at the last minute, she will not hit central or southern Mexico. It simply won't happen.
Would you be so kind as to ping me to the new thread when you post it please?
Done!
track was a smidge too far south according to the sat overlay, but close. She has been tracking slightly to the north of the official track.
Will you please post the new thread link on the old thread...thanks...
Done!
impressive....that actually looks better than the modifications they made latley.
Done!!!!!!!!
Thank you ma'am
Heap o' trouble is right.
Emily is a small but powerful hurricane right now. Since she won't encounter any resistance and will be above very hot waters, is there a possibility/probability that she will grow larger in size? What factors would be necessary for that to happen? A slower forward motion?
Will do--thanks for the reminder!
Never could find a good live radar site for Jamaica, but this one is saving some images...

Any luck finding radar for Grand Cayman?
You have probably seen this one from Ramsdis.
Click the Emily sat pic on the top left for an interesting and fast loading loop. Nice closeups of the eye.
At 1st I thought it was showing Emily as stationary, but you can see Jamacia moving past above the eye.

An hour ago winds were up to 155 with gusts to 185.
Central pressure is dropping fairly rapidly.
