I understand about the wind shear but why was her eye ball replaced?
I think so too. They just started doing the weather blogs this week.
raining like hell here, I think that high is greatly over rated. Houston area is in a serious low. I would almost think tropical low, if I didn't know any better.
I hope it doesn't make it there. I know I am about sick of hurricanes and it is just the beginning of the season!
All big storms go through eyewall replacements. It can happen several times depending on how long the storm lives.
your 459 link show the low digging south again.
You're getting leftovers from dennis.
It temporarily weakens them, but almost always leads to increased strengthening over the long term unless other factors intervene.
Someone is predicting a cat 5 hitting Galveston over at Eastern US Weather Forums ... I think he was kidding though...
Relax, it's only a hurricane LOL LOL
Well I'm glad you finally got something.
When I got up this morning, I thought maybe I should start planning a shopping list of things to pick up at Home Depot or Lowe's.
BTW, do you know of any good websites with plans on how to build your own ark?
That would be bad, very very bad, make Andrew look like a summer shower.
I have mine in my front yard and nice J-24 sailboat, hope I don't need it, it's plan Z.
You don't need an ark as much as you need batteries if Emily comes calling to our neck of the woods. You can pretty much count on losing power for several days because of all the trees snapping. And unless you find a battery powered air conditioner at Home Depot, it's not going to be a fun few days. It's like camping in hell.
Yes....I just read it a few minutes ago...however, NO ONE ELSE AGREED WITH HIM...and they shot him down pretty quickly...
Just an FYI for south Texans.
Stores are getting crowded with hurricane shoppers.
Plywood lines are already formed at lumber supply stores.
Our list of homes to board is growing steadily as our phone keeps ringing.
Do not wait to do your own preperations. The crowds of shoppers will get worse and supplies will dwindle quickly.

You can see the low building from Ohio to Brownsville and the explosion of energy in Galveston/Houston. I think folks in La or maybe even Fla pan handle need to start paying attention. Also you can see a shape turn north and then a turn west, Enily is having a hard time making up her mind. But if that low establishes itself then we might dodge Emily. That Fla Hurricane magnet might have been turned no.
The heat and humidity I can cope with.
It's FreeRepublic withdrawel that I dred...
Cripes... I've already been offline for a full month this year when I moved here. I'm not ready to go through THAT again. At least not this soon, anyway.
check out 496, think I do a little stocking up tomorrow, just in case.
Willie, welcome to Houston, ya need to come to my bar for a beer sometime, (if it is still here after Emily is finished with us).
Thanks! Are you located anywhere near Cypress?
