A team of Senate and House Democrats today are planning to introduce legislation today aimed at significantly increasing size of the U.S. Army.
Sen. Joseph Lieberman (D-Conn.), ranking member of the Senate Armed Services (SASC) airland subcommittee, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.), a SASC member, and Reps. Ellen Tauscher (D-Calif.) and Mark Udall (D-Colo.), both members of the House Armed Services committee, are pressing for the passage of the United States Army Relief Act.
The legislation seeks to raise the cap of the Armys end strength, said an aide to Tauscher.

We have an ALL VOLUNTEER MILITARY. WTF does legislation have to do with it??
General Clinton knows what the Army needs now?
You forgot the "barf alert!"
She's getting them ready for assignment to the UN when she takes over.
Note to Hillary, why would you think we need 80,000 more glorified "rent-a-cops"?
What a transparent witch!
Exactly!
BLAH! only 80,000! We can one up her! 100,000 troops! Just like they do us on education spending and any other spending that you can think of! LOL
She's going to get Angela Lansbury to hypnotize them all, and then she's going to use a deck of playing cards to sic them on the red states.
LOL!! Hillary is going conservative on us!
No, but she knows that she needs to shed her (true) image of a leftwinger, and this is one way to do that. It will be endless cited by the press in their quest to make 'Hillary' synonomous with 'moderate/centrist', and it will be endless cited as proof of her commander in chief credentials.
That new tv show starring Geena Davis, entitled "Commander-in-Chief" will also be a part of the strategy.
She is growing a Johnson. Has anyone seen Janet lately?
Does Mrs. Clinton tell us how she plans on getting these 80,000?
We have the BEST of the BEST. We don't need a draft. We have reenlistment rates that are very high in active duty personel. The people that don't want to be there we don't need. Hitlery can shove off.
DEAD people can't join the Army.
Two things come to mind. It was Bill Clinton that downsized the army to its pitiful current strength. If she and dems want to increase it, Bush should by all means support the effort.
80,000, plus how many more would take to bring it back up to the level it was before her husband was elected?
Yea, those Clintoons are real hawks. /sarc/
Funny, I just realized that I don't even think about adding the extra o in their name anymore, it just comes naturally. :-)
What her hubby cut she can restore. This was easy to see coming.
The borders will be next on her agenda - beating the jellyfish party to the punch.
How, by magic?
She tried to destroy the military during the 90s and now she wants to increase it...give me a break!
