Maybe UK should do some soul-searching first and answer why it
1. Supported Pakistan against India for 50 years,
2. Allowed all kinds of anti-India groups to operate freely
3. Told India to shove off when India complained

Answers:
1 - India's status as client of the Soviet Union
2 - India's status as client of the Soviet Union
3 - India's status as client of the Soviet Union

Nations have no permanent friends or enemies, only permanent national interests. Now that we have common interests, we pursue them together.

We welcome India into the arena of democratic nations. Please stay.

Gee, thanks. However, your welcome is almost 60 years late. Close ties with the Soviet Union (against two dangerous neighbors in China and US-armed Pakistan) doesn't change the fact that India has been a functioning democracy since it achieved independence.

nope -- India was close to the US and the UK during the Eisenhower and Kennedy administrations. It was only when Johnson got impressed by the Pakis and Nixon decided to support Pakistan against India (and tried to persuade CHina to attack India) that India moved into the Soviet union's orbit. It wasn't a client state of the USSR either. It considered and still considers Russia as an ally -- for very good reasons: both border China and neither borders each other: the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Buzzzzzzzz!!!!!
All three are wrong answers!

Q. 1. Supported Pakistan against India for 50 years,
Wrong answer: 1 - India's status as client of the Soviet Union
Correct answer: 1 - They supported Pakistan ever since independence(at a time when India had nothing to do with Soviet Union) since they(British) created Pakistan.

Q. 2. Allowed all kinds of anti-India groups to operate freely
Wrong answer: 2 - India's status as client of the Soviet Union
Correct answer: 2 - The allowed many other Islamic groups (including anti-Ireali groups) to operate freely out of their own folly (again nothing to do with Soviet Union).

Q. 3. Told India to shove off when India complained
Wrong answer: 3 - India's status as client of the Soviet Union
Correct answer: 3 - The Po faced Poms have been telling India to shove off ever since independence because they cant get over the fact that we are no more the "jewel in Crown" (again nothing to do with Soviet Union).

And pleez dont shove that "Soviet Union" on our face whenever the sh*t hits the fan above you. And please spare us the "welcome".......you sound as if we became democratic just yesterday.

Me sez...... let Britain deal with its own crap and get its own house in order first. And then show some support for us in Kashmir (and stop supporting the Pakis) and then we will consider giving whatever help they need.
