Calif. Guard Targeted Over Pig-Blood Flier
AP via Yahoo ^ | July 13, 2005

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Islamic leaders and peace groups are criticizing the California National Guard for a flier posted in its headquarters suggesting the United States execute Islamic terrorists with bullets dipped in pig's blood to deny them entry to heaven.

The flier attributed the practice to World War I General John J. Pershing.

"Maybe it is time for this segment of history to repeat itself, maybe in Iraq?" the flier stated. It was posted outside a cubicle in the Guard's Civil Support Division.

A second flier showed the wings and tail of a bomber forming a peace sign with the slogan, "Peace the old fashioned way."

Also posted was a cartoon from a Web site showing a Red Crescent ambulance stuffed with weapons and a caricature that looks like the late-Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat unloading the weapons.

Guard spokesman Lt. Col. Doug Hart at first defended the postings to the San Jose Mercury News, which reported them Tuesday, but Hart later said they had been removed.

Peace activists spotted the fliers during a tour last week.

The tour came after peace groups and a state senator questioned whether a new Guard unit had been formed to spy on U.S. citizens and had monitored a Mother's Day anti-war rally. A federal investigation of the allegations is underway.

"It's troubling to see a governmental organization dedicated to the security of our country promoting culturally and religiously insensitive ideas," said William Youmans, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Santa Clara. "It's very possible to combat terrorism without offending the cultural values of a major world religion."

I did spend too much time in College, but it was spent studying Molecular Biology. My knowledge of history and religion is all self study.

I have killed in cold blood, and taken innocent life.

I do know about the teachings of the Koran, as well as the Bible; I read them both.

Why limit Christian theology to the New Testament? Jesus didn't. And the Bibles instructions for a city taken from the unbelievers is to kill all the male children, even down to the swaddling babe, and all the women who have known men. The women children were to be taken as slaves. Psalms says that blessed shall he be who taketh the baby of the Babylonians and dash their heads against a stone. If you don't understand this you have much to learn.

The "cultural values of a major world religion" IS the issue, Youmans. Fourteen centuries of history prove it.

Didn't say I was an expert. I'm not. I've not read or memorized the entire Bible, nor do I intend too.

How about you taking your nose out of books and look at what's happening all around you.

http://persecution.com/

Christians all over the world are being killed for their beliefs. There's a pastor in Canada in prison for preaching against homosexuality.

I know enough to know the difference between good and evil. That's more than I can say for you.

What happened 2000 years ago is history and can't be changed. I'm a bit more worried about what's happening today and what today's happenings mean for tomorrow.

If you have not read the Bible how can you claim to be a Christian? You think that the Bible is the unerring word of God, his message to you.....never read it, don't intend to.

CAIR- screw these ignorant savages wanting to bring down our government.

I say we should have a standing policy that any one who commits suicide by murdering innocent civilians and soldier by detonating a bomb should be buried with their body parts sprinkled with pigs blood.

Good for the National Guard.

These asshole are looking for any thing to gain sympathy that they don't deserve.

Until the Muslims can police their own out of control population then they must be kept in close control.

It may mean either deporting those found to be spouting sedition or internment in camps far away from the general population.

One thing we should do right now is stop all, ALL immigration from countries supporting any form of terrorism.

We should require the State Department to reevaluate the issuance of visa documents including H1 to any Muslim dominated country.

We are at war whether or not the liberals want to admit it.

We are not at war with Denmark or Sweden.

We are at war with a vile, mentally corrupting, dangerous religion.

We are at war with a people who's mentality is a vicious as any of the hordes that have ever know on the face of this earth.

I said I have not read the ENTIRE Bible, I've read all 4 Gospels multiple times and most of the New Testament.

I've read about 30% of the old testament. Have restarted this study (Finished Geneses and Exodus).

I was raised in a Southern Baptist Church as a child. When I hit puberty I discovered girls, booze, and drugs and made a huge mess which I cleaned up long ago.

I didn't say I was an expert. I'm not. I know enough to know the difference between right and wrong. Again, that's more than I can say for you, having taken innocent life and all.

Well congrats to you for turning your life around. Religion can be a very powerful force for good in the world.

And good for you for paying attention to the most important parts of the Bible for a Christian, the 4 Gospels. I think most Christians start out reading the Bible and never get through the Old Testament; that is why we have so many "eye for an eye" 'Christians' out there.

OK, I see you've thrown down the gauntlet of a challenge.

"Black Jack was a Missourian and therefore, not afraid to do what it took to get the right job done."

Pershing was a great General.

To bad we don't have more politicians with his abilities.

We are at war and in war you do what it takes to save as many lives on your side as possible.

I see no problems dipping bullets in pig blood or even dripping pig blood on terrorist savages.

Those that don't support terrorism and don't participate in terrorists act's don't have a thing to worry about so therefore should not be offended.

It offends me that subversive groups like whoCAIR's would even be remotely offended by Pershings actions.

CAIR should be embarrassed that their associated with such mentally ill people who would blow themselves up killing innocents.

What a peaceful(NOT) religion.

Thanks. Didn't mean to come across as an eye for an eye type. I'm not, but I do believe in self defense and that being angry and defending ones self is not a sin. Jesus got angry at the money changers in the temple and resorted to violence to kick them out.

From what I've learned and understand, anger is not a sin, but it can lead to sin if dealt with improperly.

I agree that there are many atrocities committed in the Old Testament. The Old Testament teaches us what NOT to do while the New Testament teaches us what TO do. But that's just my $0.02.

Include bacon bits with your care packages. The troops know what to do with them.

Sounds to me like the reverse is true: Peace activists spying (and tattling) on the military. So much for freedom of speech, eh?

I don't think kicking their tables over was violence against them (hmmm, have to re-read those passages). As my tag line indicates; Jesus did advocate self defense. Turning the other cheek to a slap assaults only the pride of a Christian (who should have none but be humble). But Christ said, in parable, that it was better to not have a cloak and be naked before the fury of the elements, than to not have a sword and be naked before the fury of your fellow man.

>Calif. Guard Targeted Over Pig-Blood Flier
AP via Yahoo ^ | July 13, 2005<

>SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Islamic leaders and peace groups are criticizing the California National Guard for a flier posted in its headquarters suggesting the United States execute Islamic terrorists with bullets dipped in pig's blood to deny them entry to heaven.<

So what’s new? Groups such as those mentioned are constantly ‘criticizing’ America’s Military, America’s Government, America’s Institutions, and the American People. Why do anything to avoid the criticism? We’re going to get blasted anyway, no matter what we say or do, so why pay attention to anything the anti-American groups say.

A sidebar: Why is it that when Islamic lunatics, ‘peace’ groups, and other anti-American Democrats, express their disapproval of what our side says or does, it’s called “criticising,” but when our side expresses disapproval of these groups, it’s called “attacking”?

Another thing: What is it with this description “execute”? All that was proposed was to dip bullets in pig’s blood for use by our military in self-defense against attacks launched by rabid lunatics. The actual word used suggests our troops are committing murder on unarmed innocents lined up against a wall. Surely nothing more than an innocent error committed by a deeply anxious, sincerely concerned reporter merely trying to do his job. Right. The only problem with that theory is that this sort of ill-use goes on all the time.

>The flier attributed the practice to World War I General John J. Pershing.<

>"Maybe it is time for this segment of history to repeat itself, maybe in Iraq?" the flier stated. It was posted outside a cubicle in the Guard's Civil Support Division.<

A story that’s been around for a century. The stuff of legend, it can be neither confirmed or disproved, but it bespeaks of an American spirit determined not to yield to the Islamic lunacy of a century ago. You think this war has been going on only since 11 September? Or even since 1993? It’s been going on for fifteen hundred years.

>A second flier showed the wings and tail of a bomber forming a peace sign with the slogan, "Peace the old fashioned way."<

“Peace through strength.” Shades of Ronald Reagan! What’s wrong with that? Nothing, except those who side with the lunatics and against America, don’t like it because it speaks a truth they can’t deal with.

>Also posted was a cartoon from a Web site showing a Red Crescent ambulance stuffed with weapons and a caricature that looks like the late-Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat unloading the weapons.<

Oh, the horror of it all! The cartoon represents a truth widely reported about known incidents which have happened (with or without Arafat) countless times. Those Guardsmen have a lot of nerve going around posting the truth.

>Guard spokesman Lt. Col. Doug Hart at first defended the postings to the San Jose Mercury News, which reported them Tuesday, but Hart later said they had been removed.<

Defending the eminently defensible. Good for Lt. Col. Hart. Who ordered the posters removed (bet it wasn’t Lt. Col. Hart)? Whomever it was, he should be reduced to his permanent rank and cashiered out of the service.

>Peace activists spotted the fliers during a tour last week.<

>The tour came after peace groups and a state senator questioned whether a new Guard unit had been formed to spy on U.S. citizens and had monitored a Mother's Day anti-war rally. A federal investigation of the allegations is underway.<

Anti-American groups ought to be monitored so they can’t later lie about what they said or did at their protest rallies.

>It's troubling to see a governmental organization dedicated to the security of our country promoting culturally and religiously insensitive ideas," said William Youmans, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Santa Clara. "It's very possible to combat terrorism without offending the cultural values of a major world religion."<

Apparently, it’s not possible to insist that gratuitous allegations must have some fragment of factual support before they are dignified with an investigation. If that’s the standard for investigations, then FReepers could bury every Congressional office and every Federal Department, commission, and Agency with thousands of allegations, all of which would bear up better under inspection than the lies of anti-American lunatics. But, of course, FReepers would be ignored (the attempt would be made to ignore us anyway).

It’s just amazing how so many people nod their heads and raise their voices in smug approval of outright lies, but howl in outrage when the truth is spoken. They may protest “culturally and religiously insensitive ideas,” but they don’t seem to be able to do it without offending the cultural values of an entire world civilization.
