Authorities arrested an editor for youth-focused publisher Weekly Reader Corp. on charges Noel Neff tried to meet a minor for sex at a Franklin, Mass., mall.

The 42-year-old Norwalk, Conn., man was being held in federal custody in Boston on charges he tried to solicit sex with minors using the Internet, the Milford (Mass.) Daily News reported.

Neff was arrested Saturday by FBI agents and Franklin police in the parking lot of the Franklin Village Mall.

Weekly Reader officials said they did not know if the man who worked for them is the man who was arrested on charges of soliciting children for sex. (UPI)

Because they are motivated to do so and most others don't want to bother taking these low-paying, thankless jobs.

Same reason liberals go into media, government, and education sector jobs. Their hidden agenda is control over others, not service.

Liberalism - legal child abuse.

I doubt that the job is low paying since the government pays for the product. No mention of the gender of the child.

Somehow, I don't think they're going to buy "market research" as an excuse.

(07-12) 18:30 PDT Franklin, Mass. (AP) --

An editor for the publishing company that puts out the venerable Weekly Reader newspaper for schoolchildren was arrested on charges he solicited sex from a minor on the Internet.

Noel Neff, an editor at Stamford, Conn.-based Weekly Reader Corp., was arrested Saturday in a mall parking lot, where authorities said he had arranged to meet and have sex with someone he thought was a 14-year-old boy named Chris.

The "boy" was actually undercover FBI agent David George, authorities said. The two had arranged the meeting following a series of instant message conversations spanning more than two months, according to an affidavit filed by George.

Neff, 46, is charged with crossing state lines to solicit sex from a minor, a federal crime. He appeared in federal court in Boston on Tuesday and was released on $25,000 bail.

Weekly Reader Corp. publishes magazines and periodicals for students, including Weekly Reader, a newspaper for children in elementary grades. It also publishes Teen Newsweek, Current Events, Current Health and Career World.

Mia Toschi, a Weekly Reader Corp. spokeswoman, said the company employs an editor named Noel Neff from Norwalk, Conn.

"We are deeply troubled by this report," Toschi said. "We will fully cooperate with the authorities and have no other comment or information at this time."

There was no answer Tuesday morning at a listing for Noel Neff in Norwalk.

Unreal, how do perverts get in positions of power over children ?

How does singer Madonna become a children's author, then go to Live 8 in London where she yells, "Are you f-----g ready, London?"

How does a child rapist get out on $15,000 bail, so he can kill 4 members of the Groene family and repeatedly molest a little girl?

How does Bill Clinton live with himself?

Why do African-Americans cheer when Tito Jackson shows up at the Black Entertainment Television awards recently to say, and I quote, "We couldn't have done it without you!" ?????

In case you haven't noticed, this is a sick, sick world. Despite what President Bush says, I personally think we could use a few vigilantes - not just for illegal immigration, but to deal with all the predators out there. Our justice system is an utter failure. When you really think about it, Megan's Law is a left-wing piece of legislation because it involves releasing dangerous, violent predators back into society. No wonder the cigar-toting Clinton signed it into law.

That has to be one of the most appallingly ignorant statements I have ever heard. So children who are molested should be punished for turning in the perpetrator?

And since the "kid" was an undercover FBI agent, should he be "punished too"?

Where does it say the " kid " was an undercover agent ?
I , and others , assumed there was a real kid involved , hence my statement . If there was in fact a real kid involved , what was he doing on websites rapping with a child molestor ? Working for the FBI ???

The good news for Noel is that Judith Miller's desk is empty at the NYT...he'd fit right in.

Check out post# 8 for the info on the undercover agent.

The point is you're implying that some how the "child" was to blame, and your use of the word "finked" implied it was wrong for the "child" to turn him in and therefore should be "punished." That is just plain ignorant.

Slangish name for a child-molester . Originally, prison usage, but usage is now more widespread.
