Would it help if I leaked a list of John Kerry nominees to the Supreme Court?

It may, but I think most of us are familiar with the Seven Dwarfs.

The REAL problem for the D&Gers, is that though they are quite vocal on here, which may give them a sense of numbers, in REAL life, they are a minuscule lot. Here, they can live in their own wee dream world, bit that, like everything else they imagine is "real", is only DELUSION!

Yes, we ladies have had some great times, together, on many a thread. :-)

What is he consulting with Pat Leahy for ? This is a joke, he won the election and no where in the rules does it say consultation on SC picks must be made. It's time to start acting like a winner.

Gosh dang FReepers it's a misleading headline.

Leaky Leahy is on the judiciary committee that reviews candidates.

Cut some slack, he has to come trough with his campaign promise or risk tearing the entire Republican party to pieces.

When you don't have a clue about what you are saying it is best to keep your yap shut. Got that ?

This one is for you which is a famous quote -- It is better to sit quiet and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt ...

Advise and consent for appointments and Leahy is the Ranking Member. Better to consult with the jerks and let them do something like this then ignore them. The Dems look really bad in this one -- couldn't wait to get to the microphones which everyone predicted.

Do you get the feeling some people just read the headlines and not the article or the thread?

IMO, President Bush was right to consult with Leahy -- doesn't mean he has to take any advise though -- would bet what Leahy had to say went inside one ear and out the other.

What do you mean..."it has never been dome before"? Clinton did it with Orin Hatch and so have many other previous presidents conferred with such.

Methinks you need to read more and talk less.

I think Bush can blow the rest of his presidency with a bad pick.

Officials familiar with the meeting said Reid was more blunt in private, telling Bush he didn't want to wind up reading about the president's eventual pick in the newspaper without having had a chance to offer his views beforehand.

Well that is just too bad Mr. Reid.

After your shameful religious bigotry relating to the Ashcroft nomination you are lucky President Bush even gives you the time of day.

Reid should read about it in the papers. It is none of his business until Bush picks some one.

These nitwits are so stupid. They think advice and consent is them advising the President on who he should nominate, and then THEY consent or not.

LOL WRONG

The president picks, the Senate advises, and then they consent. Real simple. Right Mr. Reid???

I have a great quote about Harry Reid:

Officials familiar with the meeting said Reid was more blunt in private, telling Bush he didn't want to wind up reading about the president's eventual pick in the newspaper without having had a chance to offer his views beforehand.

If Bush nominates another elistist activist I fear there's no turning back--our democratic republic will be forever lost.

And it's what you're yearning for. But I rather doubt that that's what's going to happen.

Did Reagan BLOW his presidency, by nominating O'Connor? ;^)

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwww...is he gonna hold his breathe until he turn blue, or stamp his feet?

Reid imagines that he's actually relevant, when he isn't. Oh well, the president graciously gave him some time, so now he can just shut up.

Also, for the record, Sotomayor and Prado were both Reagan appointees.

Sotomayor was an appointee to the 2nd circuit (NY), sponsored by DP Moynihan....Elevated by the 'Toon...

She's a clear lefty.
