Top 50 Most Influential Churches
The 2005 survey was sent to 2,000 church leaders with the goal of ranking the nation’s fastest growing churches and churches with more than 2,000 weekend attendance. The 127 churches nominated for the 50 Most Influential Churches survey were located in 32 states and represented 27 affiliation groups and/or denominations. The term affiliation is used to include networks of unaffiliated, independent churches.

I am a Christian, but if you attend a Church where the pastor doesn't know you personally, or you know him , in my humble opinion, find a smaller church.

#50 is the one I've heard referred to as "Six Flags over Jesus."

Episcopalians aren't unaffiliated, and personally I wouldn't consider Southern Baptist to be unaffiliated either.

There's Methodists and Assembly of God on there as well. Hardly "unafiliated."

I didn't see it either but my wife told me about it. "Why do I always get the warped ones?"

Maybe not unaffiliated, but a good case could be made for most of us being unaffected. :>(

Oh, yes, I remember reading the Glide website. Pages and pages, and not one mention of Jesus Christ. It was like they have a nice multicultural recreation club, that even the Clintons can feel comfortable in. Nothing but fun, fun fun...

Are you saying they're resistable?

I am a Christian, but if you attend a Church where the pastor doesn't know you personally, or you know him , in my humble opinion, find a smaller church.

Harvest Christian Fellowship basically started as a home bible study. It grew.

(Act 2:47 KJV) Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

There have been at least 3 or 4 seed churches that grew out of that. And they've grown and I suspect there will be seed churches from them.

Now I might say that if your church started small and is still small, maybe your should find a bigger church... But I won't. I'll just pray that your church preaches the gospel to the lost and that someday your church will be so big that most of the people in your congregation won't personally know your pastor, but instead will be thinking about planting new seed churches and watching them grow.

Does Earl Palmer #45 remind you of Al Franken?

Here is the closest thing I could find to a mission statement for Glide.

"Glide's Global Ministries program is dedicated to spreading the message of unconditional love, justice, diversity, authenticity and service throughout the country and the world through innovative training, immersion and truth-telling programs. We offer programs to churches, non-profits, community-based volunteer organizations, and socially-conscious businesses, designed to empower and equip these organizations to become vibrant, critical and effective forces within their communities."

I don't know why they call themselves a church. They obviously aren't. They are a club.

From the Article:

Bob Coy was mentored by Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel-Costa Mesa, CA; he later began the Ft Lauderdale church in a corporate warehouse district with only four people in 1985. By 2005, the church had swapped properties with a Fortune 500 company that was downsizing. Attendance exceeded 18,000, making Calvary Chapel the largest church in Florida.

(Act 2:47 KJV) Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Bill Hybels and Willow Creek Church are a fake and fraud. This is the Church that gave Bill Clinton his forum for his "confession", broadcasting live to hundreds of churches.

A mix of Madison Avenue hype, new age psychobabble and one-world Socialism, its mega scale involves mega money, and fraud.

Why this self styled preacher has not been exposed is a mystery .
