Alabama a Democratic target? That is a waste of resources. It is a Republican stronghold and one of the last states that will turn blue. It would be like a conservative Republican trying to campaign in Massachusetts at the national level...
Alabama a 'Rat target at the Presidential level ? No. But it is a viable target at the Gubernatorial level. I mean, Kansas and Wyoming have 'Rat Governors (and fairly liberal at that), and Rhode Island, a 'Rat state at the Presidential level, has the most Conservative GOP Governor in New England. Remember, even Reagan managed to carry Massachusetts... twice. It's always just a matter of finding the right candidate.
Alabama may be solid Republican on the federal level but last time I checked, they KEEP electing RATs on the STATE level. The sad fact is polls are showing the RAT Lt. Gov. would not only beat the incumbant Governor, but she'd also beat Roy Moore if he won the primary. Alabama had a RAT governor as recently as two years ago. If you think we can just hold Alabama by putting up someone with an 'R" next to their name, please explain that to:
Gov. Fob James Jr. 19791983 Democrat
Gov. George Wallace 19831987 Democrat
Gov. James E. Folsom Jr. 19931995 Democrat
Gov. Don Siegelman 19992003 Democrat
Mass. is the mirror image of Alabama -- TOTALLY dominated by Democrats on the federal level but continues to elect Republicans at the STATE level.
I fail to see your point. Alabama is a likely RAT pickup as of now. I'm praying we can draft someone like Jeff Sessions into running for Governor to keep the seat in GOP hands.
