One of the most interesting features of LGF is its often pointed commentary by readers:

Check it out- I suspect we have a few noted FReepers there...
surfing this morning has uncovered an unusually large amount of "nuclear war" chatter . . . has anyone else noticed?
First week of August always brings up the nuclear war talk as the world marks the first successful application of the principle: "Don't make people mad when they have more nukes than you do."
MSM typically hauls out the nuclear war scenarios, and some cable channel is going to run "War Games" ad nauseum.
I hope I'm right about this. I really want a peaceful August. I haven't been sailing since Memorial Day, and I'd like to get out a few times before some red alert shuts down the harbor.
an interesting police report over at the forbidden site re two ME pointing a shoulder mounted rocket at a large plane from Tinker AFB outside of OKC on 7-14-05.
I've seen several takes on that - one "official" release refuting it, and then Michelle Malkin's column confirming it. I'm so confused!!!
However, given the sequence, I have a good guess as to what's going on. So, move along... nothing to see here... Just look into this little flashy thing.
I'm starting to see what you mean. (Chertoff warns of nuclear terror )
Citing a federal source, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer two days ago cast doubt on whether the Aswat suspected in the London bombing is the same person who was involved in the Bly camp. But a U.S. law-enforcement official involved in the London investigation told The Seattle Times on Friday that it is the same person.
Ujaama, released from U.S. prison last spring, has been questioned recently about Aswat, The Associated Press reported, citing confidential sources.
So, the 64,000 question is where is he now? Seems like he's still here if they recently questioned him.
Happy Birthday WCG!!
Thank you!
We had a fabulous time. I'm in a new town that has a fabulous country western dancing place. :)

Happy Birthday, Coco. Hope you had a great time at the Outback.
Got home last night. Trying to play catch-up here. (with laundry, mail, and FR.)
I am now wondering if I am the only one in the world who does not like Las Vegas. Sensory overload and way too much silicone. Glad to be back in my forest hide-away.
Heard on the Vegas news that there was a bomb threat at one of the resorts (not ours) while we were there. Never did hear any follow up.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY WCG!!!
And many more!
You're not the only one, RR. I have never had the desire to go to Vegas (no offense to those who live there). For some reason, the very things that draw most people are what keep me away.
happy birthday
Back from vacation and trying to catch up on everything. Thanks to all for the pings and updates.
Welcome back!
Hi - so glad to hear your surgery went well. That is wonderful news.
Our President should be the next King. We should take over SA and get the oil! I'm just practicing to be a radical.
Mexican mercenaries expand base into U.S.
By Jerry Seper
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
August 1, 2005
A renegade band of Mexican military deserters, offering $50,000 bounties for the assassination of U.S. law-enforcement officers, has expanded its base of operations into the United States to protect loads of cocaine and marijuana being brought into America by Mexican smugglers, authorities said.
The deserters, known as the "Zetas," trained in the United States as an elite force of anti-drug commandos, but have since signed on as mercenaries for Mexican narcotics traffickers and have recruited an army of followers, many of whom are believed to be operating in Texas, Arizona, California and Florida.
"...Zetas had maintained "connections to the Mexican law-enforcement establishment" to gain unfettered access throughout the southern border. "
