DNC Fundraising Tops $28M So Far in 2005 - HURL ALERT

WASHINGTON - The Democratic National Committee has raised more than $28 million through the first half of 2005, boosted by online donations, the party said Monday.

Online donations have brought in five times as much money as the party raised online in 2003 — the last time the party was raising money in a non-election year.

Under new chairman Howard Dean, the Democrats have raised more than $1 million a week from about 600,000 donations. The Democrats' online effort included a monthly giving program called "Democracy Bonds" with about 15,000 donors signed up.

The DNC has about $9 million in the bank. The national party has committed more than $2 million to 16 state parties and plans to invest in state parties in all 50 states by the end of the year, the party's release said. Dean has appeared at state party fundraisers that have raised more than $1 million for 10 state parties.

While Democrats say they are raising money at a faster pace than in 2003, they face a formidable challenge from the Republican National Committee, which was out-raising Democrats at a 2-1 pace through May of this year.

What a piece of propagandistic excrement! "Look at how much Howard Dean has earned for the DNC!" In the meantime, the article fails to mention that the GOP has outraised Dean and Co. by nearly two to one! If the lids really want to take such a myopic view it's fine with me. The longer Screamin' Howie is the Chairman the better.

I think the GOP is up to $50 mil already .. and they haven't even hit the trail to gear up for the 2006 election.

Liberals and their media whores are really, really desperate. Reading the title and 95% of this stupid article make you belief that the Donkeys have been so successful in their fundraising efforts so far this year and that Howard Dean is the best thing that even happened to them, but right at the end they mentioned the bitter truth that the GOP has double the fundraising of the DNC so far this year.

This is really pathetic beyond belief.

It's pretty funny to see them get their hopes up when they'll only have their *sses handed to them again next year.

What's really funny is that they thought Dean was gonna raise all kinds of money - but Hillary has already put the skids on all the big money .. which is the same thing she did when Gore was running for office and she had a senate campaign.

The Big Media will get the money for paid political advertisements. It will pay off for them to stir the pot!

Talk about putting a spin on a story. They just will not admit that they are getting their arsses kicked all over the place by the RNC.

Wonder how many libs are foolish enough to think these "bonds" are actually worth anything? Who will pay them back, and how? And isn't that illegal?

"While Democrats say they are raising money at a faster pace than in 2003, they face a formidable challenge from the Republican National Committee, which was out-raising Democrats at a 2-1 pace through May of this year."

Four paragraphs of joy, then reality.
