While this story about overtaxing a sanitation system may be a myth, real-world Germans have learned what happens when you don't tax the system enough. It's a vivid example of the damage caused by the "birth dearth."
The "birth dearth" is what demographers call plummeting birth rates in most of the industrialized world. Throughout Western Europe and East Asia, the birth rate is well below 2.1 births per woman; which is the minimum needed to maintain a stable population.

Well, they reap what they sow.
Europe had better start turning aruond in their attitude towards children, or else the entire continent might become an 'Islamic Republic of Europe'.
In Quebec the Catholic church used to call it (roughly translated) "revenge of the cradle". The separatists tried to use this logic, but as they attracted people away from the church into secular politics their birth numbers began to dwindle until today when they are at less than 1%.
Gay marriage will have a similar effect.
I suspect a combo of sexual liberation and the liberal mindset in the US/Canada will take longer, but like the separtists before them they too will diminish with time.
The real secret is to have children, model exemplary behaviour, teach them well and raise them with values, self responsibility and a sense of moral conviction.

Some of the posters have been implying that Europeans don't like children -- ditto for Americans. It is not that.
The issue is that Americans between the ages of 22 and 45 are swallowing the liberal/radical line that children are "hard" to raise, that the world is overpopulated, and that all little darlings need an enormous amount of love and attention to thrive someday.
So, addle-brained liberals have only one child and lavish time and money on the little brat. And, liberated women decide to marry late or not marry at all, leaving the burden of having children on someone else.
The excuse that really grates on my nerves is when two college-educated, well-paid former DINKS and Yuppies say they can't afford two children because the college expense it too great.
They don't realize that raising two or three children is an enormous blessing and that things will work out -- financially and otherwise.
My wife and I have three children and if we weren't nearly too old (I'm 48, she's 47, the last one was born 5 years ago) would have had 1 or 2 more.
I fit neatly into that demographic and hear it all the time. In fact it made me fearful that I couldn't give my kids a decent living - all laughable now (and my husband is a stay at home dad).
However, some of my so called peers buy into it and purchase every parenting manual. They turned out fine/successful, but their parents had "no idea how to raise a child". They believe their children are a burden and farm them off to every camp and activity they can to be away from them. (These kids have no idea how to use idle time = dead imaginations, perfect future "bots')
We'll see who gets put in the better nursing home some fifty years hence ;) - Now that's why I call revenge of the cradle.
This article seems alarmist. The clear best option is simply to import large numbers of extremist islam hordes. So what if 10 or 20 percent might be throat slitters. That is a very small price to pay in return for not having rugrats underfoot.

Thankfully most everyone I know has 2 or more children. But then we live in the South.
Nature (by design) has a way of balancing out its creatures.
The weak will disappear because they won't cope or don't know how to cope.
The aggressive and evil eventually destroy themselves or will be destroyed by those who recognize the evil and act against it.
Depopulation of Europe will eventually lead to something better. Even if something evil takes over Europe, nature will eventually balance things out.
In the U.S,. the undesirable ideologies will be taken care of by natural consequences. (There's probably an intelligent design in that). Abortion, as an example, will gradually depopulate the ranks of those who believe in the very act of abottion which they protect so much.
I've done my part for King & Country in that regard...
To me it is just a lack of understanding God's word.
Chinese population has very slow growth. There's the one-child policy.
If that's what they're going to do, it's better not to have them at all.

Better reread your Darwin. Agressive populations, evil or good, will replace complacent populations. It's in the genes.
Well, that's a good thing.
Europe is too crowded so a population drop would improve the quality of life over there.
Unfortunately, they see population drop as a problem. The fools.
