Did these people disappear? Or did the company only want to pay minimum wage to do a job that used to pay well?

"Golden Bear originally was a joint venture between China's Jilin Petroleum and a group of private oil and gas investors from Colorado, Texas and Oklahoma. But earlier this year, Jilin Petroleum sold its equity stake in the company, Croyle said. He declined to reveal the identity of the investors.

Bought property in the Grand Junction, CO area (western slope) awhile back. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll discover natural gas on the property. This same area had a strong surge of oil shale development back in the '80's. Oil prices didn't remain high enough to sustain the exploration and development of these resources ... however, that situation is now reversing itself.

Having worked for one of the largest US producers, I can tell you that this is just false. There is no shortage of willing oil patch workers. They just won't work for minimum wage.

Life keeps taking on twists. What's next, will we hear from a Chinese government official that chinese crews are doing the work blacks and mexicans won't do like Vincente Foxs remark about American blacks not wanting to work in the U.S. crop fields?
