The slaughter in London is another grisly wake-up call that likely will go as unheeded as earlier ones. Already the standard narrative is being trotted out: evildoers created by what the New York Times predictably called the root causes of terrorism: autocracy, or economic stagnation, or Palestinian suffering, or globalization's dislocations, or Western historical sins, or the war in Iraq (the cause will depend on the political prejudices of the pundit) have hijacked Islam and distorted its peaceful message.
And now they are using Islam to justify murder in order to further their own ambitions or dysfunctional psychic needs. Given this explanation, so the story goes, we must be careful not to demonize all Muslims and assure them that we respect their religion and culture. The tale is then wrapped up with fierce threats against the terrorists and protestations of admiration for Islam.
Believing this delusion requires that one ignores fourteen centuries of Islamic jihad against the West, a war of conquest and colonization ratified by centuries of Islamic theology and jurisprudence. Indeed, what we call Islamic radicals are in fact Islamic traditionalists; it is the so-called moderates those wanting to compromise Islam so it can coexist with Western ideas such as secular government, separation of church and state, and human rights who are the radicals and innovators.
The terrorists are simply fulfilling the traditional and orthodox command of their religion to battle the infidels who resist the revelation of Mohammed and the global socio-political order mandated by Islam.
Listen to one of the most respected and influential of Muslim clerics, Sheikh Yousef Al-Qaradhawi, on the legitimacy of jihad:

well done
Many thanks!
Very good article. Appeasement is no way to live. Now we just have to drill that into some people's heads.

Well, welcome to FR : )
A very important rule is not to feed the trolls. How odd, I just mentioned something like that on another thread.
Not to put too fine a point on it - islam is filth. A pervert-made compendium of vileness.
CJ is a troll? I had no idea. I thought he was a polite but misguided Muslim pro-Republican activist who thinks it's better to agree with the elected president than to encourage people to speak their minds even if they do in good faith. I could see that happening to any new immigrant who helped to get a president elected. If so, he doesn't seem to realize that helping to elect someone just gives you that much more right to influence his opinions! I thought trolls were "zotted," anyway...
Okay, I try and avoid you whenever possible, but imo, you are way out of line. We have a right to our opinions, even thought most of the board has opinions that are diametrically opposed to yours. Your opinion is just as important as ours. Get over it, or join a pro jihad board. Heck, you won't even have to change your handle.
Well for some reason, he and another few like to troll the illegal immigration threads. Look them up and you'll see what I mean. It gets tiresome. You don't have to sign up yesterday to be considered a troll.
I don't mind debating someone and learning something in the process, but some folks will just attack over and over again. Their opinion is the only correct one.
It's a model of subjectivity.
Are you suggesting that a death cult qualifies as a "religion" in the first amendment sense?
That would be a very odd perspective to a nation founded by Christians and anti-Paganists. You should remember that it always took a number of massacres before we decided to use purges on the American Indians. They could have used religion as a legal defense, too. After much consternation, Americans still would have realized that the Indian 'religion' just wasn't compatible with America's plans for the future. In any case, they're living on reservations now.
I'd be kind enough to put Muslims on reservations before deporting them, too.
The Constitution also calls for the federal government to defend its citizens. To me it's clear that Muslims can't be trusted because they won't police their own. They can't be distinguished one from another, good from bad. You're not offering any help on the matter, as you insist that 700 casualties is a viable cost for letting them mingle with us. I say it's not worth the cost. I say it's time to ask them to leave.
Feel free to live with your delusions if you want to. No one is going to free you of your self-imposed chains.
Oh, aye!
I hear you - like I hear them. I was listening to BBC "fivelive" radio via internet Saturday as the Brummies were being evacuated, and as they interviewed one young muslim Londoner who acknowledged that "of course the bombings must be investigated, but it must be done sensitively..."
And I thought to myself,"Self, where have I heard this 'sensitivity' Shi'ite before?!"
"Oh yes!" Within less than 60 days of September 11, 2001...Right about the time the Liberal DemonRat muzzie apologists figured out that George W Bush really meant what he said, and intended that the US actually WOULD take the battle to the terrorists where they were.
I want my world back!

"We're going to hunt them down and smoke 'em out of their holes..."
You're still suggesting that 700 casualties are 'delusions' aren't you? Please tell me how you can justify your position given our current inability to defend our own people. You demand that we remain defenseless, which is what we were on 7/7.
Following your logic, since there are brown-eyed terrorists, we need to deport all brown-eyed people.
Makes small difference
islam IS at war with us, and has been for 1,383 years, starting with the wars and battles of false prophet moo-ham-mad.

Start dragging them out of their indoctrination centres...errr mosques, and "talking" to them persuasively!
