He (assuming we are talking about Bastardi), is quite stubborn... and often quite wrong.

I like him. He often predicts tracks and forecasts contrary to computer models, and often is correct.
His prediction are much farther out, timewise, than the NHC or NWS. ( of course he doesn't have the responsibility of calling for an evacuation either)
He predicted this next one into the Carolinas a week ago.
This time I hope he is wrong. :)

Good grief...another chance for CNN and Fox to stand on the beach and look for rain 24/7. Dennis was the most over-hyped event since the Kahoutek comet. West Texas and parts of Kansas had 100 mph straight winds last week. You didn't hear about it because the media didn't have 5 days to get their windbreakers on and their cameras on site.

This is wrong--just so very wrong.

Thank goodness I caught up on my sleep while FR was down. Small blessings during difficult times.

Missed you too! Several of us ended up in chat over on the FR alt site in Yahoo. It was better than sudden, complete withdrawal.

This morning Bastardi on his blog is predicting TC 5 looks like Caribbean/central American or gulf threat (maybe Florida) and TC 6 behind it coming further north and the first chance for a storm toward the southeast or mid atlantic.

Went spearfishing five miles north of San Juan yesterday. A diver had a temperature gage and the ocean temperature here is 83 degrees.

"...another chance for CNN and Fox to stand on the beach and look for rain 24/7."

Ain't it the truth! And don't forget the Weather Channel whose coverage is/was near 'bout useless. Anyway, here we go again...

Two yellow-fin tuna. Enough for a BBQ for eight.

All I know is, if Jim Cantore ever shows up in Virginia Beach, that's my cue to get out of town. He must be the loneliest man on the planet, 'cause wherever he goes, a hurricane is about 20 minutes behind him.

"Thank goodness I caught up on my sleep while FR was down. Small blessings during difficult times."

I went to bed about 7:30 last night, woke up for a while and got up this morning around 7:00am. I'm not even gonna put my shutters away.

Hard core fishermen always go out just before and after the big storms. Always a great catch.

Unfortunately, that leaves all the women home to "rush storm preparation to completion."

Oh no, trouble is coming
Out here, panic and alarm
Black rains gather in the distance
Looks like it won't take long

The first drops land on the window
The first sign that there's something wrong...

We need to find Timeout a summer cottage up there for the duration of hurricane season.
