ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Someone urinated in the holy water at a suburban Rochester, N.Y., Catholic church.

Four local teens have been charged with that and other vandalism.

Monroe County sheriff's deputies said the teenagers smashed wine bottles against the walls, left bicycle skid marks on the carpet, emptied the fire extinguishers and burned cigarette holes in the Saint Pious X Church.

The damage is estimated at $17,000.

Charged are 18-year-old Dan Seklar, 17-year-old Richard DeCarolis, 16-year-old Michael Street and a 15-year-old who is being charged as a juvenile. All are charged with burglary and criminal mischief, both felonies.

The boys have been released to their parents.

"The boys have been released to their parents."

They should be thrown in the slammer until the trial.

Only one was charged as a juvenile.....why involve the parents with regards to the others?....especially the 18 year old. Treat them like adults, with adult consequences for their actions.

Too right. Of course, "Holy Water abuse" is on the Left's agenda so expect the ACLU in Rochester any day now.

It's no burning quran, but let me ask the ACLU this. Is this a hate crime?

18 = not a boy...at 18 you can vote and kill for your country, and also do time in an adult prison...

The rest are boys...

You beat me to it.

Make these little punks pay for it through their own labor, 5 bucks an hour, cleaning urinals at the churches.

Agreed. And then when they're found guilty of ripping up a house of God, their sentence, after some time in the county lockup, would be to repair, under supervision, all of the damage they caused.

Disgraceful.

That is what they are being taught by our Liberal friends...they hate religion...they hate God...and the T.V. babysitter does nothing but help form their minds to this crap...

More parental neglect and lack of involvement.
When I was in early teens my parents would not allow hanging out with some one above the age of driving(16).
Why is this 18 year old hanging with juveniles to start.Obliviously a looser and influencing the your more impressionable"Minds of Mush"

If it had been a mosque, they'd be in real trouble. Since it was a Christian church, even charging them probably violates separation of church and state. (sarc)

I wonder if these pieces of crap explained it away as: They were bored. Don't a lot of vandals use that old excuse!

They should just be executed. Any one capable of doing this is either destined for a life of crime or career as a Democrat politican. either way, better to end it now.

Yep. And at 18 my dad had been married two years, had a wife, one kid and one on the way, had been a full-time “working man” since he was 11, was farming his own little homestead AND his mom’s, and – like you – had plenty of things more pressing to tend to.

Kids today are suffering from “not enough work and way too much leisure time” syndrome.

"They should be thrown in the slammer until the trial"
In early 16th century for something similar they would be burned, not put in a slammer.

... burned cigarette holes ...

Aside from the lack of a hate crime charge, where are the charges for smoking violations?
