If they don't want us there, I'm sure North Korea would be willing to fill the empty space...

It's important. And I can't blame them for saying this publicly. They are on the front lines of action from the North.

Roh Moo Hyun is a commie appeaser. At least that's what I hear from a friend of mine who is from South Korea. She immigrated here (legally!) 10 years ago but still keeps in touch with family-her whole family hates this creep.

Since an attack is unlikely he's just playing to his own audience. If a real reason for an attack arises he'll change his tune.

Sure not the same Korea that I served my 389 days at Osan AB (K-55) from 1990-1991..
Back then.. any talk about a possibly military option by the US was immediately backed up by the ROK Government

One Mirved Minuteman III from Minot or Grand Forks missile fields willl take care of Pyongang! ..or one SLBM from anywhere in the Pacific or Indian Ocean can take care of the situation. Good Luck Seoul!

I would recommend we start to redeploy out of South Korea. If this president or his party are reelected, we should be gone permanently.
South Korea can make its best deal with the North and with China, and they'll have to live with it. We've generally stood by countries that wanted to be free. But if, in their minds, we're the problem, then they are ready to leave the nest. Its time for us to back away and let them.

This should not come as a surprise, and it's actually very old news. South Korea knows that the "cost" of U.S. military action against North Korea may very well be the annihilation of Seoul in a North Korean nuclear attack, and I can understand why they would think that way.
This is nothing more than MAD (mutually-assured destruction) applied throught a third party.

Time to pull our troops. They are not wanted and will not be allowed to act in America's best interests. Start packing boys.

I'm so damn tired of defending people who spit on us.
I say pull every soldier out of south korea and all of our ships and advanced weaponry and let those ungrateful idiots in the south get what they deserve.
