I and a colleague are in the process of setting up a non-profit political action/advocacy group in Massachusetts.
We have a specific focus which I will not go into here at the moment, but the project timeline is tied to the next 15 months between now and the '06 elections.
I would like to know what Freeper talents might be available out there to help us in our efforts.
I am hoping that if you get juiced about this project, which I think a number of you will, you might be willing to help us by providing information and helpful suggestions, and by donating a little time using your particular skill sets to advance the mission.
At the moment we are looking for the specific types of skills listed below, but would love to build a database of anyone who might now or in the future be willing to give some time and expertise to help us in any area.
Right now we have little or no money to spend, although I expect that to change as we developing our funding sources and methods.
In the meantime, here is what we need right now:
1) Massachesetts videographer. We have an idea for a video commercial, and need a videographer to make it happen.
2) People experienced with the mechanics and procedures of setting up PACs, Foundations, non-profits, etc. Lawyers especially appreciated.
3) Graphic designer
4) Web designer
If you don't have the time or skills to help us, we will appreciate a referral or a ping to anyone you know who might.
We have very ambitious aspirations and not a lot of time, so we need all the talents and support we can muster.
I will explain the project to anyone who Freepmails me.
As always, thanks to my fellow Freepers.
P.s. This makes me think there might be room for FR on a general "skills exchange" section.
Lemme know when you need anti-liberal street thugs, and I'll let you know when I'm available. As a biologist, that's all I can give you under your current needs.
Give 'em hell.
Of course, you and LittleBill would be the first people I would call for street things (although this project is a class act that eschews thuggery.)
Thanks for responding. Nice to hear from you again.
Whatever it is you are trying to do, you might benefit by trying to work with/through either the Pioneer Institute or Citizens for Limited Taxation.
Good advice. Thanks. I have already in contact with Citizens for Limited Taxation.
