London bombs: More attacks possible as terrorists still at large, warns expert

Canberra, 7 July (AKI) - Terrorists that carried out the multiple blasts that hit London's transport system on Thursday morning could conduct further attacks in the near future unless they are captured, according to a leading al-Qaeda and terrorism expert, Rohan Gunaratna. "If the cell that perpetuated these attacks is not neutralised, there is likely to be another attack in the coming days," said Gunaratna, the head of Singapore's International Center for Political Violence and Terrorism Research in an interview with Adnkronos International (AKI).

The coordinated and simultaneous manner in which the attacks were conducted, and the fact that they resulted in multiple fatalities, clearly indicated that the group that carried out the blasts was "a cell affiliated or inspired by al-Qaeda," Gunaratna said.

Speaking from the Australian capital Canberra, Gunaratna, who has closely studied the international al-Qaeda terrorist network, believes that it is very likely that the group will strike again because a study of the March 2004 Madrid train bombings, which killed 191 people, revealed there were other attempts by the al-Qaeda linked group, to conduct further blasts, following the train bombings. Those attempts were foiled by the authorities in the Spanish capital.

"This [Thursday's attacks in London] is not a suicide attack, so the terrorists are still free," said Gunaratna. "Unless they are identified and neutralised, there could be another attack soon," he said.

Some unconfirmed reports however suggest that a suicide bomber was involved in the blast on the London bus.

"I NEVER expressed any desire to indecriminately kill ANYONE. I favor deportation of non-citizen muslims back to the midlle east, that is a far cry from gas chambers."

That does seem to be what some people are suggesting here however.

I'm having trouble distinguishing the murderous ideology of some posters from the murderous ideology of the people who attacked my country today to be honest.

We spend lots of time examining Islam and its adherents, and we've learned that the super-fabulous, educated, patriotic, handsome, polite Muslims in your circle still will not denounce what happened today, ever, and certainly your equivalent of C.A.I.R won't.

We thus infer that there are no moral separation lines within Islam.

We don't all advocate Crusades II (only on days such as this), but you'll not convince a one of us to allow 'nice' muslims to be teased out of the murderous death cult for high-tea treatment. Many of us suspect them ALL.

I do not condone or support murder by the state, period.

I stated, clearly I thought, two very good reasons to mass deport deportable Muslims back to the middle east. 1) I removed the cover terrorist have, no large Islamic community to blend into, no blending in. 2) It would place a large number of partly civilized people into an uncivilized region and would tend to civilized that part of the world (middle east). I could go into greater detail but that's the short of it.

As you can see revenge, blood lust and hate have nothing to do with my reasons. Keeping the USA, UK and the west safe have everything to do with my reasons and if I am not mistaken I do believe Europe decided to do something very similar just the other day.

All of the Muslims that I know are British citizens so I'm not sure that would have the effect you think.

"All of the Muslims that I know are British citizens..."

Perhaps on paper...but not in heart.

No, Osama loves people like you. People who fall for the excuses made by Muslims after an attack. You are exactly what he counts on because you are the sucker who falls for the excuses. Do I want to put a bullet in every Muslims head? No, I like the idea of deportation back to their homeland.

And now let us turn to three great sages of today's liberalism:

"I think America has no experience with terrorism or even with war. In Europe, we know a little bit more about these things." -- Bono

"The war against terrorism is terrorism. The whole thing is just bullsh*t." -- Woody Harrelson

"Melt their weapons, melt their hearts, melt their anger with love." -- Shirley MacLaine on her anti-terrorism policy

No showing the pictures of major terror attacks does not have to create a state of fear. In fact as horrific as the London attacks were today Londoners did not panic. Unfortunately many peole have very short memories and need frequent reminders of the danger we face.

You've no idea how much comfort it gives to come here after our country has been attacked and see our so-called allies heaping on the abuse before we've even finished scraping the blood of the streets. Fortunately I believe you are not in any way representative of your country.

Five more great sages of today's liberalism weigh in on terrorism:

Howard Dean: "I've resisted pronouncing a sentence before guilt is found. I still have this old-fashioned notion that even with people like Osama, who is very likely to be found guilty, we should do our best not to, in positions of executive power, not to prejudge jury trials."

Richard Gephardt: "I never felt it was inevitable that we had to go to war."

William Sloan Coffin: After 9/11, the U.S. government should have vowed "to see justice done, but by the force of law only, never by the law of force."

George Soros: "The war on terrorism cannot be won by waging war. … Crime requires police work, not military action."

John F. Kerry, the best Dems had to offer in 2004: ”They are really misleading all of America, Tom [Brokaw], in a profound way. The war on terror is less—it is occasionally military, and it will be, and it will continue to be for a long time. And we will need the best-trained and the most well-equipped and the most capable military, such as we have today. But it’s primarily an intelligence and law enforcement operation that requires cooperation around the world—the very thing this administration is worst at. And most importantly, the war on terror is also an engagement in the Middle East economically, socially, culturally, in a way that we haven’t embraced, because otherwise we’re inviting a clash of civilizations. And I think this administration’s arrogant and ideological policy is taking America down a more dangerous path. I will make America safer than they are.”

NOTE: It's pretty clear to me that Karl Rove fed these lines to our lefty friends to utter on camera. How else could they be made to look so foolish and out of touch?

Which excuses have I fallen for? I'd put a bullet in the head of every islamofascist out there. Myself.

You are way off-message on the War on Terror you need to get back in the fold before you do harm. You're hearts in the right place in so far as you happen to be on the side of the good guys. Your heads all over the place.

Listen to your President and our Prime Minister and heed their words.
