but I fear this will mark the end of British involvement in Iraq. The gutless left will go the way of Spain i fear.

There is about the same chance of that happening as of the U.S "going the way of Spain". In other words, none at this time.

The terrorists struck at us too early. They should have waited at least another decade if they expected the left to have had us properly softened up for negotiation and surrender.

If I am wrong you can ping me and gloat. I'll have died from shock, though, so I won't get the message.

Well they were hoping Algore would win... then they would have waited longer. But they probably saw Bush get in and panicked. But that's the nature of evil... "nudge nudge nudge" toward the cliff and then in the excitement of anticipation of bloodletting they skip to "Pushtoofarblowyourcover"....
