As in the Gulf of Mexico next door, the Caribbean Sea has potential for onshore and offshore oil. The U.S. has three possessions in the region: Puerto Rico, the USVI and Navassa Island and the Dominican Republic is a close ally.
Plus, we could liberate Venezuela. Meaning that Chavez has opened a PDVSA sales office in Cuba, forcing little island-nations to deal with Castro for their oil. That ain't nice so this guy Chavez needs killin'.
Isn't the majority of Venezuelan oil already bought by the US ?
