WWI - Germany bombed London (with Zeppelins and heavy bombers)
WWII - Germany bombed the UK
Post WWII - IRA terror bombings in various cities in the UK.
Everything you say is correct. But now the anti-war, anti-USA, naysayer, lefties are much stronger in the UK. ( Of course, lefties is just a PC way of saying communists. )
And in all those instances, the British people were galvanized and managed to win in the long run (with our help, of course!)
