To: Army Air Corps
We have had summers where it was 114 in the shade and the asphalt liquified.

....you mean like the last two weeks? LOL! That sure does describe our last two weeks!....well, 105 with liquified asphalt!

Yeah, it was my first full summer in Lubbock. Summers in Houston are hot and muggy and San Antonio summers are just a bit drier. The summers here were new to me then. I remember arriving at work and looking at the black gooey splotches on the side of my car. I looked at the road only to see the asphalt bubbling! :-)
