Gillespie is a milquetoast weasel. His interview by Union Leader where he was talking about the new, improved (and big spending) Republican Party combined with his doublespeak back-pedaling (which only dug his hole deeper) after a sound thrashing by Rush Limbaugh and others leads me to question his abilities and true blue Republican credentials. As RNC chair, his refusal to allow mention of the pro-life issue at the convention and his utter disregard for social conservatives does not bode well for us as we seek a conservative/constructionist Justice to be nominated and appointed.

No, this is not good news if you ask me.

Charles up-Chuckie Schumer said Ed was not right man for the job.

Hum, I suppose that up-Chuckie would like Murdering Teddy Kennedy to make the choice for the Republicans.

Every time Up-Chuckie speaks someone needs to issue a BARF alert.

"To choose the former head of the Republican Party who's known for slash-and-burn tactics doesn't help," said Senator Charles E. Schumer, a New York Democrat who is a member of the Judiciary Committee."

Yet stating you would go to war over the right of the President to nominate the Justice of his choice is helpful?

If you don't like John Kerry's position on an issue, just go to his next event; it'll probably change," Mr. Gillespie said in trademark comments last April.

I miss Ed. I love Ken, but I hate to see good people leave. Glad he's back on the team in a way. I feelin a bit more confidant with his return and that of Fred Thompson to to the fold.

First thing that crossed my mind as well when I saw these two were involved -- not going to be the Attorney General. That is going to disappoint some of the "I am not donating to Republicans" any more Freepers!

Beginning to think Hillary -- always thought Bill was the political person not her with all the missteps she has made over the years. Remember when she waved that rag newspaper around about when did Bush know -- dumb mistake -- that is archived just sitting there waiting! Between her and Schumer -- not sure which is the dumbest when it comes to political moves.

The RATs are stepping in it day by day but this deal by Schumer is like a gift!

Interesting. Looks like the GOP is going to take this seriously

Agree. I don't remember this kind of "line up" in the past.

Schmuckie has at least one press conference a week, just picks a topic. And the NY press just eats it up.

You're reading my mind, or I'm reading yours-- I had the exact same thought when I read that.

Ed, my buddy! Okay, not really, but I did deliver some campaign signs to his home (crappy little hovel, probably owned by Al Gore) last fall. :-) Okay, the truth is I was surprised I was not shot immediately upon stepping onto his property. :-)

Pretty nice fella. Actually came out and helped me unload some signs out of my trunk. We spent a few minutes talking about the Prez being tied in one NJ poll (before Kerry ultimately pulled away) and his campaign swing up there.

That is neat and now he is going to help the President. I really enjoyed listening to him when he spoke out here last year. Although I have to admit I enjoyed your Senator Allen even more! :)

Quite. The gloom and doomers are too much to handle sometimes. I only glance at their posts.

Doom and gloomers are right -- I have taken to ignoring their posts or making fun of them. Never met any conservatives like some of these folks, and I live in Oklahoma which is very conservative. Have to admit I am glad I don't meet them too!

If the Republican's show a fight in this battle, it will be the first time. I hope your right.

If they don't the political momentum will be shifted, big time.
