I don't think they are limited to just Congressional income. It's just that there is restrictions on how they can make their money besides their government paycheck.
Just because someone sells at an inflated price doesn't mean it's a bribe.
Cunningham bought that boat from Sonny Callahan, who lives in Mobile. Mobile is one of the cheapest cities in the country, it's our one good point. What would cost you 2 million in NYC, you can get for 500 grand down here. Paying 200,000 for that kind of boat is perfectly reasonable if the owner is from well, a cheap place. It becomes less reasonable if you're in a high COL place like California.
I disagree. I'll wait to see if he is first indicted.
Ha, it ain't just the boat that went up in price, its the slip its parked in. Yes it would be considered a great piece of property.
I think someone else brought up the issue of the boat slips, which are in fact a piece of real estate.
Real Estate is kind of in a boom right now, of course prices are rising.

Not only that, but the guy who bought it for triple said it was worth 'double what he paid' so that would make it 1.2 mil or 6 times what Duke paid for it. Sounds a lot like the house appraisal he got.
Wanna buy the Congressional seal from Duke for $500+
agree.
you'd think with duke's friends in high places that they could tip him off to some good investments.
According to FNC, his website is now undergoing "construction" and the items are no longer offered for sale.
Use of congressional seal on knife questioned
By: MARK WALKER - Staff Writer
As if he didn't have enough problems, U.S. Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham also is facing questions over use of the congressional seal on a $595 Buck knife that he sells through a company he owns.
The company, Top Gun Enterprises Inc., was established in 1987, primarily as a vehicle to sell "Fox Two," a book Cunningham published about his experiences as a fighter pilot during the Vietnam War.
On the company's Web site, www.topguninc.com, Cunningham advertises the knives as including the seal of the U.S. Congress.
Federal law prohibits use of the seal on commercial products unless Congress has given express consent. There is no record of Congress' ever giving approval for use of the seal on the knives.
Cunningham, R-Escondido, is the subject of a San Diego federal grand jury inquiry over his dealings with Washington defense contractor Mitchell J. Wade and Wade's firm MZM Inc.
San Diego resident Richard W. Jones, listed as the operator of the Top Gun Enterprises Inc. on its Web site, said Wednesday that any questions about its products had to be addressed to Cunningham, whose office referred the question to K. Lee Blalack, an attorney the lawmaker has hired to represent him in the grand jury proceeding.
Blalack said Wednesday that use of the seal was on his list of matters to be looked into but that at this point he had no further comment.
Ken Kellner, chief counsel for the House of Representatives Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, also declined to comment Wednesday on use of the seal on the Buck knives.
The "Randy 'Duke' Cunningham Fighter Ace Kalinga Style Buck Knife" advertised on the Web site says it includes the emblem of the American Fighter Aces Association, an autographed picture of Cunningham in his flight suit and the "Official Seal of the United States Congress."
Cunningham is sole owner of Top Gun Enterprises Inc., from which the lawmaker reported earnings in the 12 months preceding May of between $15,000 and $50,000, according to his latest financial disclosure report. Members of Congress are required to file those reports each year.
Federal law allows members of Congress to maintain business interests outside of their official duties and mandates the annual reporting of earnings.
Top Gun Enterprises Inc. says it had 1,000 of the knives specially manufactured. The site features a picture of Cunningham and Chuck Buck, founder of the Buck knife company, holding a case containing one of the knives.
DUKE'S SITE STILL AVAILABLE ON WayBackMachine.org:

Always check waybackmachine.org ---

Interesting and that site seems to refute FNC's report. Of course, I didn't try to place an order.
waybackmachine.org ? --- Captures all the stuff that is otherwise ZOT?
ok. You convinced me. Something smells fishy here.
Exactly. Has that Talon reporters gay site, the Duncan molsters site, Duke's site. All still there for all to see.
Thanks for the information. Learned something new today. :)
Ritchie had a great backseater. Believe most of his kills were with radar missiles.
His GIB (Guy In Back) was an ace as well, but he had to go to pilot school afterwards so the USAF wouldn't have a WSO Ace.
It is actually very cool system. I have found things that are no longer on a site they once were. Also, it is a fun history lesson. Try apple.com, ibm.com, ti.com, any other company or domain name ... you can see their website from many years ago and it is pretty interesting. Many go back almost 10 years!!!
