Mountain Brook High School graduate Natalee Holloway went missing May 30 during a senior trip to Aruba.

Thanks for understanding my points!
I think the arrogant American media (with the notable exception of Greta, and maybe a few Fox reporters such as Rick Leventhal) are HURTING the search for Natalee by causing undertandable resentment amongst Arubans.
Well I for one don't blame the Arubans one bit for resenting the American media.
Lot of Dutch media there as well and, by some accounts, even more pushy & obnoxious than American press.
Well, b***h, she has been looking for her daughter!!! Maybe you ignorant little *hit haven't noticed that! Natalee's family was the ONLY people investigating in the beginning which let YOUR polis lose a great deal of evidence by letting the lead investigator aka Juran's godfather ignore his friends involvement.
And that is exactly why many Americans will NEVER step foot in that hell hole with attitudes like that.
I know that I would be more concerned about one of our citizens getting away with murder instead of trying to defend them!
If the Kalpoes aren't involved why aren't they spilling their guts?!
What good would "vigilante justice" do Natalee or her family?
She may be upset, but your suggestion that she was calling for something harmful to be done to the Kalpoes by the public is more strange to me than what she said.
Beth believes the Kalpoes have more knowledge of what went down than they are telling. Believing that, and she has her reasons, for sure, she wants them under pressure to reveal what she thinks they know. It is information she wants from them.
Could she be calling for the public to harm the Kalpoes? No way. Public pressure from the citizenry, however, for the Kalpoes to spill what she believes they know, is so obviously what she means.
And her comment that her biggest fear is they will leave Aruba, fits in exactly. There could be no public pressure if they leave Aruba.
However, that's beside the point of my post. Perhaps 8 out of 10 posts I've made on this topic have been attacks on the US media, who I believe are HURTING the search for Natalee, and engendering anti-American feeling for no good reason.
Anyway, if you post to me and I don't respond, I'm not ignoring you. (It's very busy for me here and sometimes I can't get around to responding for days.)
The issue of lying was covered on an earlier thread. Someone who had visited the Caymans (I believe) said that it's typical islander stick-together stuff.
I hesitated to post the phone calls to Aruban radio, but it's important to know what's being broadcast on the island, IMO.
I don't doubt it. The British media may be even more obnoxious than ours, too.
That doesn't excuse the ignorance and arrogant behavior of our media, however. And like I've said, I think our media are HURTING the search for Natalee, not helping.
To be honest, it is irrelevant what Beth believes, or feels, or thinks - as far as the actual search for truth and a crime here goes. She is a worried, frantic, despearate mother who probably regrets letting her daughter go wild in Aruba with little or no real supervision. Her story is sad and painful but the whole world cannot stop and force someone to confess to something that we really don't know happened or not. I am skeptical too of some of the detective work here and of the involvement of the suspects. But I have yet to see real proof of any coverup here, just people getting into the hype and emotionalism of this story.
We in the south will smile and be delightfully polite right up to the point where we're cocking the shotgun.
Please keep posting them. We all need to know what they think of the tourist who help to feed and cloth them by vacationing there.
Isn't Surinam also a Dutch protectorate?
I think the arrogant American media (with the notable exception of Greta, and maybe a few Fox reporters such as Rick Leventhal) are HURTING the search for Natalee by causing undertandable resentment amongst Arubans.
I agree. Besides the resentment, the media amplifies any animosities between interests and strains the resources of investigators. It would not surprise me if the media #'s exceeded the total number of investigators on the case. OTOH, you have public interest that the media serves but that doesn't change the fact that the media can overwhelm the resources available to meet their needs.
I prefer Fox over the others usually but they have been lousy with this story and firing people here up needlessly. I lost count of the number of "breaking news alerts" they have breathlessly announced on this, only to say later the story has "changed" or the lead was false. They know dragging this out and hyping this up is bringing them huge ratings. Every time they replay the now-old video of Greta retracing the alleged steps of that night they gain a few more converts who think they "know" what happened.
many of us are interested in the story because of having a daughter around that age. Mine is almost 17.
The reality is, the only ones who are stupid are the Aruban sheeple who go along to get along with their corrupt officials.
I hope when those tourist dollars start drying up, the arubans will see who is really stupid. NSNR
That's just a stupid provincial attitude on their part. It is going to hurt them and all the islands I think. Better they should adopt an attitude of the tourist is always right. But I suppose that is the attitude toward tourists everywhere, US included. Take their money yet hold them in the deepest contempt.
