I got flamed for this once before. But to me, this just shows the joke of sentencing. You can get a life sentence without parole for having 100 pot plants, but we regularly let child molestors out. I think we have our priorities backwards.
TheOtherOne's ranking of criminal threats:
1. Terrorist hell bent on attacking America
2. Murderers.
3. Rapists and Child Molestors.
Beyond those few things I am open to sentences less than death or life in prison.
Why can' we castrate all child molesters? Doesn't castration remove all sexual urges and thus eliminate the danger from such people?
"I think we have our priorities backwards."
Most individuals here, and those I know in real life don't seem to, but the judiciary sure does! Maybe it's time we start demanding that we release sex offenders into neighborhoods where the judges live?
You hope and pray these things don't happen where you live, but they've happened one town over from me. I also have SIX registered sex offenders living in my little Cow Town of 6,000 people. Amazingly, these people are hiding in plain sight. No one hears about it until it's their child that goes missing.
I need to find a way to get more involved in combating this within my own community. Anyone have suggestions for me? Let me re-phrase that: "Anyone have LEGAL suggestions for me?" ;)
