The above url is the blog site of that sick bas**rd, Joe Duncan who was caught at Denny's with one of his victims. He went by fifth nail.
There are several entries there. The last blog was in May but I saw that around 500 people have left messages since he was caught.
Damned If I Know
Be aware.... from this post, I thought you were posting a link to the perp's blog, not your own. ;~\
The hours of operation of that chain lead many denizens of the night to appear there. Many good folks (like I!) go there, too, since it's one of the few places open at some hours.
Sending someone to prison as punishment is wrong in the exact same sense and for the exact same reason.
Revenge (call it punishment if you like) is not the answer, it only propagates the problem, and justifies the criminals behavior. We know prison does not deter criminal behavior at all (Studies show constantly that if you take a group of people who commit any given crime, send them to prison, then compare their recidivism rate to a similar group that did not go to prison, the group that did not go to prison always has significantly lower recidivism For example...).
That's why I have such a hard time letting go of my hatred for pigs. I try hard to be a peaceful and love centered person, yet every time I see a pig putting down a criminal I get angry knowing that the criminal would likely not even be a criminal if it weren't for the pig being a pig.
This is a concept so well known and studied, and yet the phenomenon continues in our society unfettered by our law makers (who obviously suffer their own self righteous distortions.)
If I could leave one mark on this world it would be to help expose the distortions, especially the most common ones forcefully endorsed by our government (like, "criminals are bad," and "sex offenders are monsters").
------------------------------------------------------
He's right about one thing --. prison is not "the answer." But . . . execution should have been prescribed. If he had been executed for child rape, there would not have been the tragedies there were recently.
Fifty grand reward, I think. But it sounds as if a couple of people were involved in turning him in that night, so perhaps they'll split it.
Unbelievable. What an ass of a judge to essentially let this guy skate.
I guess they didn't have "Little Boys" as a category, huh? I love how he asks "Need more than just great sex?"...like maybe a horrid death?
Ae per kcvl's post over here
THE ASSOCIATED PRESSDETROIT LAKES, Minn. -- The judge who set bail for the Fargo, N.D., man charged with kidnapping a girl in Idaho said Sunday he barely remembers the case and isn't sure if he knew then that the man was a registered Level 3 sex offender.
Becker County District Judge Thomas Schroeder told KSTP-TV of the Twin Cities that the details of Joseph Edward Duncan III's bail hearing were just coming back to him.
"You hear so many of these, and apparently I did set the bail in this matter," Schroeder said.
Schroeder set Duncan's bail at $15,000. Duncan made bail and later skipped out.
"Usually on a bail hearing you have limited information, and so you set it in an amount that you think is appropriate," the judge said.

Becker County District Judge Thomas Schroeder, who had set bail at $15,000 despite prosecutors' request that it be $25,000, said Sunday that he barely remembers the case and isn't sure if he knew then that Joseph Edward Duncan III was a registered Level 3 sex offender.
"Usually on a bail hearing you have limited information, and so you set it in an amount that you think is appropriate," the judge said. He said if he had known Duncan's record, he would have set it high enough that Duncan would not have gone free.

I wonder how many responded to his 'good looks'?
In Torrance, California an LAUSD teacher, with no criminal background, needed to post a million dollar bail (reduced from two million!!) for outside the clothes groping/fondling of some girls..
That is why Mark Furman said during the OJ trial, you don't pull any sh!t in Torrance and expect to get away with it.
What's the deal about that site? I don't think you can gather any insight into this monster's twisted mind with that as much as you can with "The Fifth Nail" which give the inner reflections of a libertine/libertarian.
I'm sorry but I don't understand it's relevance to this thread.
Really, those old State Mental Hospitals DID protect the populace from these Mentally Ill perverts.
I will be waiting for you to give your experience and/or area of expertise in regards to mental illnesses, since you like to paint these people with such a broad brush.
Perhaps libertarian wasn't the best description since it is attached to a political philosophy held by many upright people. No slander was/is intended. I suspect you, likewise, intended no slur on the community of faith with your comment..
RE # 12: The waitress accidentally saved the little girl's life. If she had not recognized the girl the story likely would have never been learned or told.
Signatures go on every post.
This sicko trumpeted John Lennon's "Imagine" song which conveys an approach to life that doesn't easily classify.
The former Beatle was certainly not conservative libertarian, probably a mix of anti-nomianism, secularism, and utopian philosophy.
