I hear you except for the part about voting for Hillary.
3rd party, maybe. We'll see.

Point well taken. That's very prescient of you.
To: Wombat101
Very well said. As someone who has worked in the trenches campaign after campaign, I am not willing to let the RATs have any power if I have a choice. Just wish everyone would elect two Senators like mine -- Inhofe and Coburn and the Senate would work a whole lot better! But then I have read statements on here recently that we have no conservatives in the Senate -- that is sure news to Inhofe and Coburn.
Bunch of malcontents trying to get everyone else mad -- not working -- statements on this thread have been so ludicrous that I cannot help but laugh.

Good advice Desert_Girl and welcome to FR! (: Thanks!
We all need to hold our congesscritters feet to the fire and remind them of just who they are there to serve = We the People who put them there in the first place! I just wish their actions would affirm the majority we have all over the map.
Waaaay at the bottom of the freep homepage is a list of links to the various governing bodies. This afternoon, I emailed the president himself. We should all do that, just to let him know that he has our support.
Our president has stood firm thus far. Now is not the time to doubt him or his resolve, but the time to let him know we are behind him. We won't let the liberal lefties intimidate us now, not when we have the power to change things right in our hands!

When is ya gonna give me my welfare, only call it a tax refund, please? If you are talking about the "earned income" credit - Gerald Ford signed that nonsense into law.

"Natan Sharansky" according to his book was well fed for a few months prior to being released as well, trying to hide the mistreatment that he experienced.
Was he at the Hanoi Hilton too? I don't recall his name. What year was he shot down? Navy, Air Force, Marine, Army? I don't remember who made the comment about Mc Cain, but I think it was the Navy Officer with the thick eyebrows. Who ever it was, implied that Mc Cain got preferential treatment. Hey, when your dad is an admiral........

What on Earth is going on here tonight? I get the feeling the genius who started this thread along with a few other 8-balls are actually hoping that the President makes a bad pick so they can scream like Howard Dean!
The President and Karl Rove are perfectly aware that this issue is the #1 issue both among Republican voters AND among Republicans in the Congress. Complaining in advance about the nomination is even more idiotic than the 'Rats opening fire this early -- at least in the case of the 'Rats, they have good reason to be afraid.

Oh no, let's regroup. We can all choose to vote for a third party and give it our best or something.

Very well put, with but one slight quibble. For the most part, the "purists" here, who have Reagan on a pedestal, were either not born yet, when he was president, or quite young. They have NO idea what he said or did, but he is their godling of Conservatism. They have no idea that it was Reagan who gave illegals ACROSS THE BOARD AMNESTY and when that's pointed out to them, they look to make excuses. Neither do they know that while he did lower tax brackets and taxes, he also RAISED taxes. And those two items are just for starters.
To: Graybeard58
Heck no, I'm talking about the lure of a tax cut/rebate in lieu of actual changes in tax policy.

Your arrogance (common of many of your fellow country-club Republicans) is why some conservatives are beginning to despise Republicrats, err Republicans, almost as much as they do Democrats.

It's probably better to vote for a Libertarian or Constitution Party representative. That way you are sending the message to the Republicans without betraying your conservative values. I'm going that way anyway - haven't you guys figured out the Republican Lucy-and-the-football lies yet????
Geez, how many lies, disappointments and trillions squandered is it going to take?

If Bush doesn't nominate a true conservative, I'm going to get my gun and shoot myself in the foot. Both feet, actually. That'll teach him and everyone else! Don't think I won't! I've had enough.

I can't believe that one either.
This thread has obviously attracted some people who are in dreadful need of a political tutorial and more.

While Ronnie was my all time absolute favorite (first Presidential election I was able to vote in, and I pulled the lever for him --- twice!), I do remember walking the unemployment line for nearly a year between 1987-1988. Never dulled my enthusiasm, but it did make me wonder about certain economic policies.

there are probably lots of liberals posing on this forum as disgruntled conservatives to depress activism/phone calls/etc.
Don't pay attn to it.

There is nothing in the world that could get me to vote for Hillary or any other filthy democrat.I'm mad as hell at the president and the republican party for stabbing us in the back over border security but voting for Hillary only makes it worse.

Quite frankly, I'm getting disgusted with this "I'm more conservative than thou" line of bovine scattology. Now, now; they live for that stuff!
They WANT the GOP to fail, so they can say "I told you so."
