First let me say I did two tours in NAM. This is a rant about what's wrong with our government and asks is this what our troops should be fighting for.

The Muslim religion is today still considered the "Religion of Peace" by our President. Is his head screwed on too tight?

President Bush said outgoing Justice Sandra Day O'Connor was a "great American" deserving of a hug! Hello? Maybe his head is on too loose.

The Bush administration is talking about amnesty for undocumented Mexicans living in this country, as well as an expanded guest-worker program. The President should have been speaking in Spanish when he told us about the No Child Left Behind Act.

Our crime levels are rising, jobs are disappearing and our wage levels are dropping because of the administrations open border policy.

The Bush administration is pushing for CAFTA to pass which will erase our borders between Canada and Mexico, open the borders further to immigrants. Numerous other bilateral and regional agreements are pending.

The New America is sending our American jobs overseas. The professionals who invested in education and thought they had secure futures in the tech and service industries have had a rude awakening. They have been getting pink slips and joining the unemployment lines, along with auto workers, steel workers, assembly-line workers, loggers, and other low-tech workers. They are being replaced by low-wage workers on computer terminals working from India, Pakistan, and China.

On May 6th, President Bush signed the Singapore Free Trade Agreement, which (if approved by Congress) would allow an unlimited number of "temporary" workers from Singapore to enter the United States. The new Singapore FTA states: "A party shall not: (a) as a condition for temporary entry [of intra-company transferees] require labor certification tests or other procedures of similar effect; or (b) impose or maintain any numerical restriction relating to temporary entry."

The General Agreement on Trade in Services will affect virtually all service industries and service jobs, which means virtually all American businesses and jobs. The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, which takes the lead in negotiating trade agreements, provides this answer to its own question, "What are services?":

Services are what most Americans do for a living. Service industries account for nearly 80 percent of U.S. employment and GDP. U.S. exports of commercial services (i.e., excluding military and government) were $246 billion in 1998, supporting over 4 million services and manufacturing jobs in the United States.

The European Union show that the EU is angling to have the Bush administration force the state governments in the U.S. to eliminate those laws that the Europeans consider to be unacceptably "discriminatory." Remember how the 'seat belt law was passed? Not much force was used, just withhold the Federal dollars and the States will come around!

The proposed closings of many military bases is not an indication that this administration is intending on expanding our military forces for the defense of America. We have troops in 135 countries today. We are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan with National Guard troops, extending their tours of duty repeatedly and causing extreme hardships on their families.

We know how the Democrats think about these issues but Republicans, who claim to be guardians of the Constitution, are not doing a very good job. Republicans once favored a small, limited government but those days are behind us.

Yet FReeper Republicans criticize anyone who doesn't want to fight and die for the erasure of our national borders, the collapse of our native workforce, the voluntary forfeiting of our sovereignty and the crushing of our US Constitution.

Supporting our troops and supporting a false democratic government, which we now have, are two very distinct and different issues. Tell me which politician that you know is fully committed to their Oath of Office. American legislators only, please. Then include which part of their Oath mentions furthering socialism and a One World government.

I personally have advised my children not to consider joining our military services UNTIL we have a 180 degree change of direction in Washington DC. I have asked them to consider running for a local office. Neither of them would consider it because they are too forward. Just like me, they say what they are thinking. Not the proper trait of a successful politician.

The definition of “compassionate conservative:” a person who campaigns as a conservative, then sells out key conservative principles!

"Patriotism is supporting your country all the time and your government when it deserves it."
- Mark Twain

If you want to make people angry, lie to them. If you want to make them absolutely livid, then tell 'em the truth.

I hope this post has made everyone reading it absolutely livid.

I didn't ask my twin sons to serve their country, they told me they had made the decision to serve and they enlisted in the Marine Corps. Before they raised their hands, we talked about military service and obedience to orders from the Commander-In-Chief, regardless of their political affiliation or his.

One of them replied: "Our country has been attacked and our fellow citizens blood was spilled on our soil. Those who did it will do it again unless they are stopped. It's about America and our future. My country needs me and I feel the desire to answer the call and serve my country. It's not about politics, Dad."

"Some neoconservatives these days argue big government is OK so long as it is conservative big government representing values in which they believe. Big government is not OK. Every inch the government grows, the same inch is taken from the liberties of the people, starting with the basic liberty of spending your own money the way you choose rather than the way the government chooses to spend it for you. Massive programs inevitably have unintended consequences; government, though necessary for many purposes, is no more a precision instrument for constructive social change than a sledgehammer is for brain surgery."

Well . . #199 is gonna make you absolutely LIVID!

(BTW - thank you for your service to your country, B4Ranch. It is very sad in light of all that has been fought for and all of those who have perished in defending this grat nation to see it now being simply given away without a fight.)

Here again is why I would not support my child joining the military at this point.
