Amazing how many Iraqis want to join the police and stop suicide bombers and other dead enders, regardless of their own personal risk...

...You'd almost think that they wanted democracy and the rule of law.

Suicide bomber kills 20 at Baghdad base

BAGHDAD, July 2 (Reuters) - A suicide bomber killed 20 people, most of whom where believed to be volunteers hoping to join the police, outside an Interior Ministry base in Baghdad on Saturday, an Interior Ministry spokesman said.

An official at nearby Yarmuk hospital said they were treating at least 20 wounded.

Police sources said the bomber wore an explosive vest.

U.S. and Iraqi forces are battling a Sunni Arab insurgency opposed to the Shi'ite- and Kurdish-led government in Baghdad.

The bombing was the worst reported in Iraq in at least six days.

Well, yeah, heroism for some, but for many its also the major payola that goes along with being a cop in a country like Iraq.

Ultimately, corruption will surpass terror as the major threat, but Sshhhhh don't tell the MSM!
