Your idea to keep Sessions as an ace-in-the-hole makes a lot of sense. He's 57, so we'd need to use him during the President's term.

Many people complained in retrospect that Reagan should have appointed Bork while he had the Senate and left Scalia to later, but of course there was no guarantee the President would have another appointment after Scalia and Nino has been a fine pick.

No doubt Karl Rove is helping the President with strategery.

I heard that she changed her view from conservative to liberal after a short fling with Renquist but tried to keep an open mind about open legs.

"Well, you've pretty much described Janice Rogers Brown, my personal favorite, but I suspect the nominee will be either Emilio Garza or Miguel Estrada leaning toward Garza."

If Estrada is brought up, all the Kennedy and Carl Levin documents secretly trying to find out information on him will be plastered over the new media outlets.

For that reason alone I would nominate Estrada.

I think a nice makeup would be nine originalists, screw political affiliation. The Constitution says what it says.

It's true here in Philly where only Live 8 is on the agenda. Oh, I forgot the hero of all of us--the highly-educated Tom Loser, I mean Cruise (high school graduate or did he make it?)isn't his movie opening this week? No doubt he's screaming over Sanda O'Connor daring to resign today and steal his thunder. Not a pretty sight.

But then Philly is only interested in crooked politics.

There's a number of primaries wherein democrats can vote in ours... like in CA. I doubt he'll get OUR nomination, but John's political hero is Teddy 'Moose Party' Roosevelt.

"I'd like to propose."

Did you mean propose or propose to? :)

Wow, this is great news. Time to appoint a real conservative judge.

I cannot feature being 100% with any candidate although my two Senators Inhofe and Coburn come close to my supporting them 100% of the time because they are conservative and have conservative values.

Actually I don't know anyone I agree with 100% of the time -- I am the Republican activist that understands that some states (New England/NY/upper east coast except maybe NH) will never elect a conservative like my two Senators but personally I will never support a pro-abortion candidate. But then I don't think one could get elected here in Oklahoma to begin with. Liberals are a dying breed in Oklahoma.

"Any thoughts as to how the liberal press will spin this in their favor??"

They will call her a neo conservative and ask for someone more moderate, like John Kerry.

You've got to be loving Coburn. He's the greatest thing to happen to the Senate in a long, long time. We tried to give him an ally in Herman Cain, but country club won out over principles in a huge way. I also like your line up for '08 in your tagline. I met Watts several years ago when he was traveling in Georgia with Charlie Norwood, and I've been a huge fan ever since.

Y'all do all right in Oklahoma.

I think Brown is the perfect candidate. If she gets nominated then I am beginning to think that McCain and his 13 Senators were set up by Trent Lott on suggestions from you know who in the White House.

If that happens, I will be sitting here laughing for weeks because the nomination and confirmation of Brown by the Senate after the agreement will be the catalyst that gets her on the Supreme Court. How are the RATs going to filibuster her when they just confirmed her? I know they are RATs but the American people will see through them on this one.

"Now is the time for GWB to start taking out the baseball bat...Appoint Bolton, re-nominate Bork, ask for Kofi's resignation, send special ops into Syria and plug the flow, seal our borders immediately and that would be a good first day....

What's GWB going to do the rest of the weekend?"

I was thinking after dinner.

That scenario would certainly redeem Chester Lott.

LOL!

Lincoln Chaffee for president?! Good Lord, even in absurd, silly hypotheticals that stretch the bounds of imagination, I never thought I'd hear Chaffee in '08.

Especially not here.
