You ought to shut up about CA and stop being so damn rude here. Obviously you no nothing about CA's voting. (Hint: the red went for Bush... the liberals are in those small, but populated N. CA infestations).

"I fall the in the Conservative Republican mold that understands you don't always get everything you want but you keep on trying and never fold up your tent and go home."

I agree, well said. Perfection would be nice, but realism tends to intrude.

Well, I was reading through some of the suggestions......I won't name names because most of them don't have a chance.

I want somebody who will support the Constitution as written, not make new law, and certainly not take Internatiional law into consideration.

And I, like you, can't imagine Bush nominating anybody that I couldn't agree with; he's smarter than we are.

We are married, therapy won't help us, we will bicker forever. But we don't want to start fooling around and looking for another partner. We have the children to think of.

I agree on the bickering. Let's just keep the slapping around to a minimum.....

Rudman was pretty liberal. If he guaranteed Souter as a true conservative, I gotta wonder!

Would he know a true conservative if he fell over one? Would he want a true conservative when he himself was not? He certainly wanted his fellow New Hampshirian to get on the Court.

As for Sununu, I understood that Bush was looking for a stealth candidate that they could get past the Dem Senate, and that Sununu's "ok" stamp on Souter was the deciding factor in Bush's decision.

Too bad, since Souter turned out to be a flaming Lib.

It would have to be someone who hasn't made any controversial remarks or writings, but is known to be a constructionist by some other method-- a total unknown, basically.

Not in today's climate. Any nominee will be subject to a full body cavity search. They will be scrutinized and demonized by the Left regardless.

thank you for your #592. Anchors keep reminding viewers that she voted with the majority, (for Bush), in the 2000 election case.

I think brown would have possibly been the nominee if confirmed when first nominated. Unfortunately I believe she is unlikely to be the nominee given her appointment was just within the last month. I'd love to be surprised, because I adore this woman.

My other sentimental choice is Estrada.

I really don't know who he'll nominate, I won't be surprised if the name isn't on the tip of our fingers.

yep DUde. Some people need it. To pretend that every citizen is capable of working, earning a living or has relatives or a private group to help is being blind.

Social conservatives have a history of supporting government activism.

Wow, this is definitely not social conservative appreciation day here.

I don't see why it is divisive or fickle for conservatives to expect the President to deliver the kind of nomination he promised when he asked for our vote.

Well, you can disagree, and be wrong...But Thomas Jefferson put Life before all others in the DoI.

You can CHOOSE whether or not to engage in Procreative acts, that is a choice between two people. However if you do CHOOSE to do so, and a third PERSON appears, the weakest and most innocent deserves protection of the law.

Or do you think that killing a human should be allowable in the wake of irresponsibility...then maybe DU I's that kill should be given a do over????

And they would be outraged that anyone whose wife was killed on 9-11 was even considered. Outraged!

They would be outraged with a disclaimer about sympathy for his loss.

I'm with you- send Bork - The man deserved to be there. If he is too old then let him secretly agree to retire before W's term expires.
