MIDDLETON [--] A local 14-year-old boy and his family learned a powerful lesson after he received a slight electrical shock from a lightning bolt while playing video games Wednesday afternoon.
David Robinson, of 239 New Durham Rd, said he was playing Grand Theft Auto 3 on his Play Station in his basement bedroom while a powerful storm swept through the region. A lightning bolt struck the ground near Robinson's room around 2 p.m. and some of the residual electricity made its way into Robinson's television.
"My TV went out a few seconds before I got a shock," Robinson said, adding the current traveled through the television, the gaming system and into him through his game controller.
Robinson said he doesn't remember what happened next, but believes the electricity traveled from his left hand and exited through a toe on his right foot, part of which he shot off with a .32 caliber rifle during an accident in October.

Lesson learned: always save your games during lightning storms, especially if you have just finished a really difficult level.
A hole in his hand? What do they mean by that?
Lesson learned..
Buy a wireless controller
But the wireless ones don't have the 'rumble' feature. I hear it even simulates lightning strikes now. ;)
If he was a dog, his name would be "Lucky". : )
Zot feature, no extra charge?
I wonder what accidents Sonny has experienced!
Oh lord, I don't want to know! Especially since his older brother is the "bright" one...
Yeah. yeah, yeah. But is the Playstation okay?
APf
The kid should have had a surge protector hooked between the wall outlet and his PS2.
The kid needs a lot more than THAT.
He shot off part of his foot, and now got zapped by lightning?
What next, stomped on by moose?
How 'lucky' can he be?
